Went there because I was not feeling confident about tackling the job market. They successfully helped bring back my coding confidence as well as giving great tips and tools to succeed in interviews (1-1 mentoring sessions, technical workshops, behavioral workshops, mock-up interviews, interview preparation resources and many more). I did not have to randomly search on the internet. I got everything in one place. Would definitely recommend.

Astonishing
Personalized, professional, responsive, hands on, effective.
PathRise is the best and most supportive coaching I have ever received in my entire career. A flat-out life-changing positive experience.

Career Mentors are great but way overpriced for service
My experience with my career mentor was great. They were supportive and helpful. The design mentors are lacking. The mentors are geared more towards developers than designers.
I strongly suggest not signing up unless they will charge you on POST tax income. They are charging based on a salary you are not receiving and it is a lot. Basically one weeks worth of pay for six months. You will be “reminded” through text, email, and phone call to pay at the 1st of every month

A+ experience with Pathrise
Amazing program with very talented mentors. They are super supportive, knowledgeable, and kind. They analyzed my situation very well and provided super useful feedback. They go really deep into helping you improve different aspects of your career prep journey, do unlimited mock testing, behavioral practice, and provide good strategies as well from the very start where you prep your resume to the very end where you negotiate and sign your offer. The program is very well structured and the platform is super useful.

My experience with Pathrise has been…
My experience with Pathrise has been terrible.
First of all, they tote their income-share agreements as if the novelty is an inherent selling point. On the contrary, they’re a way of ensuring they receive a cut of your future salary no matter what. 9% of your pre-tax income is immense, particularly if you have student loans or are looking to live in NYC/Bay Area/Seattle or any other tech area. Please be aware of how much of a commitment this is before you sign on. Because it’s a pre-tax percentage on an annual income but paid back in the first 6 months, it represents 20%-30% of your paycheck when you first land the job. They claim this amount is “reduced” if you are unsatisfied or receive a job out of the Pathrise network, but I asked a representative about this and they offered neither specifics nor a confirmation that this would happen.
Otherwise, I was recruited for Pathrise and then ghosted. I “interviewed” with one of their admissions reps, a condescending undergrad who was dressed inappropriately and asked me nothing about myself. He had the audacity to tell me: “...this field is hard, and you probably won’t get any offers, so Pathrise will help you realize what you’re qualified for,” even though I’ve already started the interview process and have several years of experience/degrees/etc.
Really, I was interested in Pathrise because they reached out to me and I wanted to know if they could add value to my job search. Ultimately, every “touch” I had with their team was lackluster, their payment model is exploitative, and it’s now been several weeks with zero follow up. Perhaps it’s better once you’re in the program but, again, I never heard back.
Don’t waste your time or money. Job searches already take enough time- just focus on your roles, watch YouTube videos, and apply apply apply. You’ll be better off.

Landed an Associate Product Design Job
Loved:
1. Word for word resume & portfolio review (specific actionable feedback with examples of portfolios that have landed jobs)
2. Weekly career coach sessions that helped me feel supported and held me accountable for my weekly goals
3. Knowledgable design mentors who helped with interview prep
4. Weekly Job-A-Thon where we're given lists of job postings sourced by Pathrise
5. Job search strategies, such as cold emails, time frame to apply to job postings, etc. that are based on data
6. Negotiated initial offer with the help of my career coach and increased my base significantly

If you already have the skills, Pathrise will help you with the process of finding a position
I completed Flatiron School and it took me about half a year to find a job in the software engineering industry. At around the 3rd month of my job search, I felt like I needed more support on how to prepare for technical interviews and how to actually get interviews, so I joined Pathrise. I had to pass a small technical interview to get accepted, but it was well worth it.
Pathrise got me set up with a career mentor who was an ex-tech recruiter, who told me how to present my background for interviews to sell myself for each individual interview every time. I also did a bunch of mock technical interviews with actual software engineers from Microsoft and other top places to work. Added to that, I was able to really network with other Pathrise people, some not in the tech space where we did mock cultural interviews together too.
Pathrise is focused on doing career and software workshops every week for 8 weeks, where they taught us on a deeper level how to do technical interviews and about algorithms. The first 3 really broke down how technical interviews work and how to score higher on those. With the career workshops, we were able to specifically know how we were going to be scored on cultural interviews as well and how to negotiate which was very helpful. Each of these workshops was live so we could ask questions to the expert in charge which made it highly interactive. These workshops after the first 3 were heavily based in Python code to teach us depth first search and other concepts similar to that. Also they had company guides to talk about what different companies like Google or some smaller companies expect from their candidates. Also there were additional perks like access to Leetcode Premium/Algoexpert/InterviewCake and Rails Udemy courses and other courses that were useful in keeping my skills sharp.

Exceeded my expectations
What makes Pathrise a unique experience is the amount of 1:1 attention you receive from your career and industry mentors. Job searches can be very stressful. My career mentor provided so much support and guidance during our weekly sessions. It was also amazing meeting with a senior industry mentor and having them review my portfolio. Their educational sessions and the resources they provide on their online platform are also excellent. You have to be self-motivated to get the most out of this program, but Pathrise provides the best tools and resources available.
