ParsecReviews of parsecgaming.com

Works as advertised. Sure. But not being able to change install direction with the setup GUI is disgusting...my grandma's programs let you do that and they were sized less. 15 MB isn't much these days, but in some applications and situations, you still need to control where the myriad files go without having to move them yourself.

Constant connection problems, no support, just "read this guide" that don't help for shit....

okay, i love parsec. i think its a really great tool for people to use for whatever reason they need to connect to another computer. the reason im giving it a 2/5 star review is because EVERY SINGLE TIME me or any of my peers try to use parsec, we run into account issues. we spend literal HOURS trying to log in, and when we choose the "forgot password" option, we'll copy and paste a complete new password and it still doesn't log us in. we try reinstalling the app, and it still wouldn't work. if it weren't for that, i'd say parsec is at least a 4.5/5.

It works despite a bit laggy and its free. But if you're unfamiliar with some settings, best not to use this for remote work/gaming when going on holiday. There isn't support for the app either which sucks. I installed it and left my pc to go to my home town for the holidays which is more than 6 hours away and travel money isn't cheap here. I tested it on my phone and it worked as expected. I used a low spec pc on my parent's place to connect to my pc at my place and it was alright until I opened the task manager or Services out of habit. Everything froze and I couldn't do anything since Parsec wasn't setup with admin access from the start (maybe have that as an option during install?). Had to bother a neighbor just to close these windows to regain access. Now its frozen again and I get green static lines because I set the FPS to 30 from 60. Or maybe some other setting was changed. I'll have to go back and spend 6 hours in travel (I easily get motion sickness) and spend money just to fix this on the host computer. It would be great if I could change the host settings on that computer remotely. Since I'm using the same account.

The software is reasonable for remote access but it has a LOT of bugs that can prevent usage, especially around keyboard and mouse capture (immersive mode), and around the virtual display driver. Plus there are problems with network dropouts occurring on the host machine when a session connects. ADDITIONAL WARNING: The company offers *absolutely zero* support unless you are a subscriber to the pricey Teams version, despite their web site declaring they support Warp customers. The upshot is test the product thoroughly and use at your risk.

Service is okay, however performance of the machines is very poor even though specs suggest otherwise. After setting up a Papercut machine and installing BF1, I wasn't able to manage 30+ FPS on the lowest settings possible. I tried all the different possible VM's which took me a couple of hours in total (= wasted credits). The Amazon machines aren't even capable of running BF1 since they're running on an old Windows (server?) version ... Finally settled with a Papercut machine and manually updated the GeForce driver to the newest version (even though Papercut/Parsec explicitly tells you not to, since it might be possible that the VM will be corrupted). This managed me to get in the 60 ish FPS zone with decent settings (still not what the machine should be capable of if you check the specs). Ended up switching back to my 2012 Alienware M17R4 since it still performances better. My trigger to write this review was an e-mail from Parsec notifying me that my VM was deleted due to insufficient credits. I'm disappointed...
