If you're looking for a nightmare in Paris, this is the perfect choice!
We stayed in the apartment "Spacious 3BR - Champs-Elysees Views" at 15 Avenue de la Grande Armée, 75116 Paris, from May 24 to May 31, 2026. This was by far the worst rental experience I have had in all the years I have been renting apartments around the world. The apartment is absolutely unfit for comfortable living. The bed linens were dirty, there was a terrible smell throughout the apartment, and the noise from the avenue below was unbearable. There was no air conditioning, the washing machine was covered in mold, the refrigerator was packed with thick ice buildup, and the floors creaked so badly that it was impossible to walk around without disturbing everyone. The floors were dirty, and the dishes felt sticky and unclean. Dirty buckets and a mop were left lying around the apartment, creating an untidy and unpleasant environment. One of the bathrooms is located directly inside a bedroom without a door, meaning you are effectively using the toilet while staring at the bed. The second toilet is separated from the bathroom by three different rooms, making the layout completely impractical. The property management is utterly incompetent. They do nothing to address the issues and instead send long, pointless AI-generated responses that avoid taking responsibility. It appears that this apartment is deliberately not listed on major platforms such as Booking.com or Airbnb. Given the extraordinarily inflated price they charge, one can only wonder whether this is done to avoid public reviews and prevent potential guests from learning about the true condition of the property. I would strongly advise anyone considering this apartment to look elsewhere.
Response from Paris Vacation RentalsAug 13, 2026
Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback — we're sorry your stay didn't live up to what you'd hoped for, and we'd like to respond properly. This apartment has welcomed many guests over the years and is publicly listed on Booking.com, Airbnb, Vrbo, and Expedia, where its reviews are visible to everyone. It's a classic Haussmannian property, and some of what you experienced comes with that character: the original parquet floors do creak, and like most historic Parisian buildings, the flat has no air conditioning — it isn't advertised as having any, and fans are provided. That said, we recognise that late-May was unusually hot, and we're sorry the heat made your stay less comfortable. On the layout: the position of both bathrooms is shown in the listing photos, but you're right that photos alone don't make it obvious. We're updating the written description so future guests know exactly what to expect before booking. Where we clearly fell short is cleanliness. Linens that aren't fresh, sticky dishes, ice buildup in the fridge, and cleaning equipment left in the flat are not our standard, and we apologise without reservation. We've since reviewed and tightened the cleaning procedures for this property, including a stricter pre-arrival checklist and fridge defrosting between stays. We also want our guests to know we're reachable throughout every stay — we're always happy to send a cleaner or address issues the same day. We're sorry we didn't get the chance to put things right for you while you were with us.
