Terrible. The Padi library app just won't let me connect to it (android app)
Worst app ever.
Unable to prepare for my next dives to come...
Just put a PDF version of the open water on the web already and call it a day... Obviously you do not have the resources to create and test a working e-learning app.

One of the worst online software…
One of the worst online software experiences that I've seen. Most of the time you just get the following error when trying to access the classes. Error. An error occurred while processing your request. It is pretty much a waste of money to purchase their online training and I use online training all of the time. I'm pretty sure that they are having issues with their software, but it doesn't appear that anyone is fixing it based on the other reviews.

Dreadful software and cannot be…
Dreadful software and cannot be accessed.
I'm extremely disappointed with the software. My daughter is booked in to do her Open Water in 5 weeks' time. I've purchased the online course and yet neither of us can access it (whether using Chrome, Explorer or Safari). No live chat or obvious assistance. Absolute waste of money and quite where we go from here remains to be seen.

Suspiciously poor online materials
This review refers primarily to my online learning experience (as many below do, too).
Chrome experience:
• startlingly complicated (and slow) access procedures: after creating my account, from typing in 'PADI online open water diver course' to viewing the course requires 12 clicks minimum through successive new pages and tabs repeating choices already made and offering new choices not wanted – that's 12 clicks NOT including data entry, non-functioning pages that have to be repeatedly clicked, or skipped, and going back and forth between pages owing to wrong pathways taken where a link has not worked. Some pages require a 10–15-second wait each before loading. Usually, login to a secure account requires 2–3 clicks and takes a few seconds total.
• slow, confusing learning interface which is pointlessly difficult to access and use, making for a distracting and difficult learning experience – especially the modular layout with internal scrolling per module, which often results in bad outcomes such as being unable to refer to a numbered diagram or picture and the key to the picture at the same time or being unable to check test answers without writing them down elsewhere first (!)
• missing information
• repeated processes during testing
• non-functioning links
• failure to upload/register entered information including test scores, resulting in no way to prove test taken/test results
• links which, clicked, freeze the page
• 'false' links -- non-working link above the fold, working link below the fold (cannot be seen without scrolling down)
I see, too, from several pages here on Trustpilot that, during several years of complaints, PADI has chosen not to update this learning experience.
Caveat emptor!
Edited:
1. PADI have promptly responded (below) to say the site is being re-edited this year. Future customers may get an improved experience.
2. As of today (18 Jan 2020) Chrome users unable to access test results (or any other part of their account) are still being redirected to a new page encouraging them to download Adobe Flash. (The page fails to load any of the pictures illustrating how.) Since at least mid-2017 the memos have been flying all over the interwebs about Flash as a major security vulnerability to computer systems running it. As far as I know Flash is already disabled by default on Mac and in 2017 it was announced Flash will be discontinued entirely on Microsoft, Google and by Adobe themselves from Dec 2020. So don't take PADI's advice to install Flash ... Check with your course provider what to do. Possibly you could take screenshots or photos of every results page – this appears to be the only way for me to get a record.

Outdated online/app services
Seriously PADI you charge an absolute fortune for everything from membership to courses and yet your websites/ apps are awful. PADI Club doesn't talk to Scuba earth, the app doesn't talk to PADI Club, all the websites are clunky and very dated. I can't get a new card without spending a fortune, even an electronic one costs an obscene amount and i can't seem to find my diver number or open water info on any app or website easily. If I could I would take my business elsewhere but the trouble is, once you've got us we're stuck with your substandard customer service tools.

Will not take any PADI (put another dollar in) courses SSI amazing
Alcoholic instructor - defended. Same instructor takes pictures of women’s breasts and crotch area - defended. Most reputable instructors / dive tour operators don’t have dive masters use cameras - they are there for looking after divers safety - have photographer available for hire. Same instructor/ divemaster had to cancel dives because of drug use - they did cancel dives which was good for safety.... but so unprofessional. Same instructor looses divers - defended. Same instructor insists they can teach course, but aren’t Certified to do so - defended. PADI given all information and pictures. They said I was angry because instructor wouldn’t date me - defended by PADI. Told instructor I would have him arrested and he paid me 4K. This guy is still instructing.Deaths are not reported - divemaster lets divers do “whatever”. One death there were three different interpretations from Captain, and two divemasters. No universal protocol. Have had no issues in Canada and USA but be careful at more touristy places. Put Another Dollar In isn’t interested. I am glad I haven’t tried the elearning. The app is rediculous though.

Might be great if it worked.
Good quality learning materials, when it works, which is rare.
Completed a couple of courses the online portal and seem to have a worse experience each time. The site will fail to log you in, fail to submit results, just stop working, only load half a page, or just straight up not work.
I can't believe that an organisation as large as PADI, that charges so much money, cannot get something so single right.

Largest scuba diving organisation in the world right?
A huge disappointment about either the app' and the padi club website.. Being recently certified, I couldn't wait to have my profile updated with my dive logs and my buddies 1. impossible to find my buddy who's been recently certified too (nor someone on the club for already several months..) - impossible to find myself either btw. 2. Having first recorded my logs on Scubaearth, they were not on Padi club. So I recorded them, again! Connexion next day; damn, logs duplicated! But the import is not properly done (e.g. dive site instead of dive title). So I (i) deleted my logs on Scubaearth and (ii) deleted the imported logs on Padi club. Day 2; logs imported again (!!!). Sooo, I deleted my scubaearth account. Fingers crossed this will fix the issue (day 3 being tomorrow). Can't there just be an harmonised tool?? And so what, should we record them on Padi club, or on Scubaearth? And why different details on both sides??
Padi pretending to be one of the largest scuba organisation in the world, please invest a minimum of money to make a serious community plateform, both on your website and as app'.. Until then, I'm not giving any single euro anymore for any Padi commercial product and certainly not for the ecard!!

Hello!
Thank you for taking the time to express your feedback with PADI Club and Scubaearth. My sincere apologies for you frustrations. Scubaearth will be sun-setted in the next few months. Anything you have in Scubaearth should be ported over to PADI Club before this gets sun-setted.
Our Product and Technology team is currently actively working creating a new log book feature. I believe they are looking to get this launched sometime early next year. This will be the one stop shop for logging your dives.
We are listening to the feedback from our diving community and working hard to provide an outstanding log book feature for our diving community.
Thank you again for taking the time to express your feedback. If you would like to reach out to me directly, please feel free to do so at [email protected]
