When we started exploring the field of coolers, we were surprised by the lack of progress and innovation. The market was dominated by oversized boxes made from nasty materials and outdated thinking. Our mission is to develop groundbreaking technology that helps solve environmental challenges instead of creating new ones.Being problem solvers at heart, and eyeing an opportunity to do our part in moving the world forward, we started studying light-weight materials and high-tech insulation systems. We calculated thermal equations and built prototypes, failed and learned, finally creating what we are now ready to share with the world: Oyster - the world’s first performance cooler. And it’s 100% recyclable. Norway is known for its natural beauty and abundant natural resources, and right in the middle of it all lies the city of Raufoss. Hydro-powered and filled to the brim with aluminum know-how, amazing craftsmen, and a rare can-do spirit made it the perfect home for our technology and manufacturing facilities. We left nothing on the table. Making the combined latch and hinge soft enough, but not too soft, and getting the seal just right, but not too tight, was a lot harder in real life than on paper. But to us, if it’s worth doing, it’s worth doing right. Our hope is to inspire others to challenge the status quo and see a world of opportunity at the intersection of technology, adventure and the environment.Through everything we have done to get to where we are, we have learned that the world really is your Oyster.

I purchased an oyster pro, unfortunately it arrived with a broken thermometer which has never worked. I sent 4 emails as directed on the website to hello@oystercooler but they never responded. STAY AWAY there is no customer service. And I have a broken cooler

Purchased a new cooler from them that was supposed to deliver mid-March. It got delayed to mid-April and then delayed again until mid-May. I wouldn’t be surprised if it gets delayed again. I responded to their email thread where I got my order confirmation to cancel my order. They couldn’t locate my order even though I provided my email, order#, and shipping zip code. Ended up disputing with my credit card company to do a backcharge as I’m not going to deal with their BS. Thought their service was bad but this bad? Switch from YETI to try Oyster but going to switch back. Never again getting Oyster. YETI has much better customer service.

So far, the cooler works fairly well. My issue is around the lack of transparency. I thought I was buying from Norway. Shipping was $95, which I thought made sense coming from overseas. However, I was unexpectedly hit with $200 duties because it actually came from the US. Initially, I contacted the email on the website (apparently that goes to the US). *Twice*. No one responded. So I did some digging and found an email in Norway. They responded quickly and explained that they use US distribution for North America but they would improve transparency around shipping. They have not. In fact, the only information I can find today is that shipping in the US is free. Must be nice. My cooler ended up costing me about $800.

Ordered this exciting cooler on August 10. Like other users reporting on Oyster coolers, I never received an invoice or shipping notice. When I go to their website, I see no record of receiving my order. Yet my credit card was charged on August 10. I'm now in the dispute process with them.

I placed an oder and my credit card was charged but I received no order confirmation after waiting a month. I sent to emails asking about my order by never got a reply. I'm thinking this is a fraudulent company.

I ordered and payed for a cooler three weeks ago. Got the order confirmation. Have not heard back from the company re delivery since then. Despite three emails to their customer service. After reading the other reviews start thinking it’s a scam company. I live in Sweden and will not let this pass.
