TERRIBLE Service. AVOID!!!
I generally avoid naming individual employees in public reviews because I believe companies should investigate customer concerns independently by reviewing calls, interactions, and internal records. However, the conduct I experienced was so unacceptable that I feel compelled to identify the representative involved. My wife was researching rates online this morning and entered her phone number because it was required to receive rate information from multiple companies. What appeared to be a rate comparison service was actually a lead-generation site, and she received a call almost immediately from William Boyce. From the outset, the interaction was extremely unprofessional. He repeatedly interrupted my wife, refused to let her ask questions, and spoke over her throughout the conversation. When she finally had an opportunity to speak, he accused her of being rude. The conversation continued to deteriorate as he became increasingly dismissive and condescending. What should have been a simple inquiry about rates became so uncomfortable that my wife was brought to tears. Concerned by the way she was being treated, she shifted the conversation away from rates and asked about the company's policies and standards for interacting with consumers. Those questions were largely avoided, and the call ultimately ended with him hanging up on her. We have a recording of the interaction and intend to share it with the appropriate regulatory and consumer protection organizations. As a manager myself, I would be deeply concerned to discover that an employee was treating consumers in this manner. I sincerely hope this company takes the time to review the call, investigate the conduct displayed, and ensure that future customers are treated with professionalism and respect.

Hi Eric, Thank you for sharing this. I'm sorry to hear about the experience your wife had — that's not the standard we hold our Home Advisors to, and we take it seriously. We've since spoken with your wife directly and apologized for how the call went. We're continuing to review the interaction internally and will take the appropriate steps with the team member involved. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention, and if there's anything further we can do to make this right, please reach out to us at [email protected]. — The Own Up Team
