Strait-Forward Install, Extension Kit Required
Ordered the Summit 2 with heater in March and received it within 5 days. The unit sat boxed until August when I finally had time and the weather window to remove a roof fan and install the AC unit. Directions for installation were clear and thorough, the unit itself is made of high quality materials and came with extra hardware. Installation would have been simple if I didn't have to figure out the cable run in my already built-out van, and if I didn't require the extension kit. My van roof was about 3/4" too thick to use the attachment rods and screws that come with the unit. Outequip sent me the extension kit and I had it within 5 days. The extension kit worked except for the m4 screws that attach the control panel to the unit--they were not completely threaded and and I needed to cut them down which would have left no threads. So, I had to purchase fully threaded screws on on Amazon (the Amazon link to the screws was promptly given to me by Outequip themselves). Now that the unit is installed I have had the chance to run it and, albeit in fairly cool autumn conditions in Colorado, it seems to work well. It is incredibly quiet. I am happy with the product thus far, and though I wish the extension kit screws would have worked as is, I am extremely happy with the prompt and helpful customer service I received from Outequip.
