Broken after a year
Shocking toothbrushes, me and my partner have the io toothbrush and it’s now broken after a year which isn’t good enough. Can I also mention the fact it’s £54 for 4 brush heads, how on earth can they justify that amount.

Abzocke

I had to replace my Oral-B toothbrush…
I had to replace my Oral-B toothbrush recently because the rubber on the handle had begun to deteriorate. Why the handle was made of rubber is anyone's guess, which is why I bought the i.o.2 series, as the handle is made of sterner materials. However, what I didn't realise was that the heads on my new brush are not compatible with the set of toothbrush heads I bought for it, as they are a different shape from the old ones.
Why oh why bother to change something that wasn't broken? I now have a set of 4 brush heads I can't use with my new toothbrush, as if toothbrushes and their heads aren't expensive enough! I am very annoyed at this inconvenience and the waste of money.

Favorite toothbrush but broke too fast
Favorite toothbrush.
Too bad it wasn't waterproof (I think the O-ring at the top is cracked). The LED screen got condensed water on the inside, then sometimes it worked untill I hit it a bit and then at last it died. I haven't had luck contacting the company who sold it.

I want to raise two serious concerns…
I want to raise two serious concerns about Oral‑B’s product design, both of which reflect poorly on the company’s environmental responsibility and user experience.
First, Oral‑B continues to manufacture electric toothbrushes with built‑in batteries that cannot be easily replaced by the user. When the battery eventually fails, the entire toothbrush becomes unusable, even though the motor and housing are often still in perfect condition. This design choice creates unnecessary electronic waste, shortens the product’s lifespan, and contradicts the direction in which the EU is moving toward repairable, sustainable consumer electronics. A modern product should not be designed to be thrown away simply because the battery wears out.
Second, the replacement model I purchased the Oral‑B Pro 3000 — has a power button that is so stiff it feels like you almost have to twist your arm to activate it. This is a clear step backward compared to my older 2000 series, which had a much softer and more ergonomic button. Considering that an electric toothbrush is used like twice a day, a poorly designed button becomes a daily irritation and undermines the overall user experience.
In summary, Oral‑B should take responsibility for both environmental impact and basic ergonomics. Products should be repairable, and new models should improve usability not make it worse.
