My mother (89 yrs old) requires Prolia injection every 6 months. Her doctor sends in the prescription to Optum, and we then contact them to execute payment. Every single time, we have to start over as if we are a new customer. They have us in their database, but it doesn’t seem to matter. We are just simple trying to pay for the med with a credit card, but there is nothing simple about it. I have been on hold for 3 3 minutes now as I write this review…

They are the worse company for medication. I have been getting some medications for years at a discounted rate with a card from the manufacturer and they refuse to use so the medicines are much more. One medication that was increased I am paying for 7 additional prescriptions a year under this company. They also didn't refrigerate a medication they sent in the mail and was stuck in my mailbox. They are not knowledgeable in how medications work. This was a horrible choice for mail order prescription drugs.

I would not use this prescription insurance if I had a choice. The customer service is in another country, and there is regularly a problem with communication. Also, the communication within this insurance company is severely lacking. Finally, when I changed my health insurance, this company stopped covering several of my medications and blamed it on Medicare. However, before I signed up for United Healthcare (who uses OptumRX), Medicare covered ALL of my prescriptions. I would seriously think before going with OptumRX.

This is a terrible provider. I had an FSA account some time back through my ex-employer. My family member has some dental work done in another country so I had to submit all the documents and expenses to them as a user created claim. I created a it and added all the details. However, they kept coming back to me stating that there was missing documentation. So after speaking with their customer service ( which is not great either in their ability to solve the issue) I was told that the expenses were not in some format even though everything was done by the same dentist and even after giving them itemized deductions. One of them told me that the IRS would question everything. This was such a foolish answer that I knew that they were trying their best to make it difficult for me to get my money( reimbursement) back. After escalating twice, I got an answer from them that the receipts were paid in foreign currency and not USD. I even gave them a lower currency conversion rate and asked them to reimburse part of the claim as per that current rate, they still did not process it. Even after telling in the note section of the correct amount( I actually asked for less ) in a few days of creating the claim, they still would not process the claim. Bottomline, this is the worst provider in this industry which I have encountered so far. Beware, if you have this account through your employer, then ask them to change this provider as soon as possible. I ended up just closing this claim and took the loss of that amount myself.

If there is a 0-star rating, that is what I would give them. Months after launching, their website is still totally dysfunctional. Any physician whose practice they took over is now impossible to reach, online or by phone.

The staff calls me in the middle of a busy shift. I tell him to call me back. They don't. I eventually call them back about an upcoming appointment that I couldn't attend. They basically told me to GFM. Both reps I spoke with sound like their souls have been ripped out and raped in front of them. The doctor's offices I've gone to we're both extremely far away, and set up in a sort of strip mall, and seemingly last minute. Runningly by foreigners. Just a very sketchy thing and it makes complete sense why the government would hire them to contract out these appointments. Clearly they are the lowest bidder and the glare shows. TRASH. VA SHOULD YET AGAIN BE ASHAMED!!!!!

Ongoing issue for weeks with account. Impossible to reach supervisors and get same response from call desk. Companies beware of using as a vendor.

My clinic made an order for fertility drugs a week ago. I received an email from OptumRX that my order is being processed, so I expected the delivery. Nobody ever called me. A week later, when I need the medication, it turned out nothing was sent and the order was cancelled. They say I should have called to confirm the delivery. But how was I supposed to know it is me who needs to call when the order is there? And why did I get that email about my order being processed then? This is so confusing and frustrating to deal with a pharmacy that can't even reach out to you when they need more information.
