I called to get a quote for meds that my doctor prescribed because the CVS Pharmacy price was to much. OPTUM RX quoted me a price that was $20 lower than CVS so I ordered the meds thru OPTUM. When my bill came, the cost was the same as CVS. I called OPTUM and explained what happened but got nowhere. They duped me BUYER BEWARE THEY ARE A BUNCH OF CROOKS. OPTUM HAS A CLASS ACTION SUIT AGAINST THEM. U CAN'T TRUST THEM

My doctor sent 2 prescriptions to this specialty pharmacy. When I called them, they only sent me 1 of them and didn't say anything about the other one. 1 week later, I'm calling and asking why the most important order was completely missed. The woman, Michelle, took really long time, almost mocking me, asking me to repeat my number, then repeating it herself, and asking me to repeat it after herself again (REALLY??!). When I refused to repeat it for the 3rd time, she said she could not serve me and there's nobody she could transfer me to. So now not only they completely missed a very important order, there's no way I can still order it!!! I hope they go out of business as this is not the way to treat customers who you've already failed.

OPTUM is a scam. Despite my right to know the costs of services, they never answer the phone, return your calls and keep costs hidden --until they charge you and you get a big unpleasant. I've been on hold more than once for over 45 minutes seeking information. But even when they answer the phone, they hang up on you without explanation refusing to answer the question. The one time I actually was able to speak to someone to ask for the costs of certain services (which I believe is the right for a customer to ask) , they had no answer and promised that a "manager" would call me back within 24 hours. A month later, I'm still waiting for that call. Absolutely horrendous service.

Absolutely horrible customer experience. Called them to check my Rx - they immediately put me on hold and then they transferred my call to another patient. Two patients talking and trying to figure out what's going on. RIDICULOUS. Called back. SUPER NOISY call center in the background - no one willing to help go the extra mile. Hey Snr Execs at Optum - maybe you need to go to the Philippines and manage this call center a little better -- horrible.

Once again a simple prescription and optumrx has problems filling it. Got a minor procedure, was prescribed pain meds. CVS says optum needs to approve it. So ok already annoying but I call optumrx after going through a million dumb robo prompts finally get a representative. They can't comprehend my issue because I mentioned I need insurance to approve, the rep says they aren't an insurance company repeatedly. I change my language and say ok fine I need my pharmacy provider to approve it, the guy starts asking me for my mail order address. I ask for a supervisor. She comes on and is much better than the guy but still isn't helpful. Apparently optum only auto approves half my allotted prescription and she needs to speak to the doctor to fill it. What a scam they are running. Like ok good luck getting a specialist on the phone in a timely manner. Obviously the doctor wrote the damn prescription he approves of it. This company does everything they can to not do their jobs, Obviously to save on costs. I can't wait until they go under.

The worst! I would never use them again. Claimed trying to contact PCP re Rx for days before they could fill it but bs on that since it wasn't difficult for me. Didn't bother them that I needed it. Basically laughed at my upset reaction to their blunders and discomfort. What's it to them? Anonymous actors behind the curtain.

This is the WORST company I have ever dealt with. They are all over the place. On Feb 20, 2024 at 3:36 PM I received a text message saying the following: Optum: Your auto refill order# XXXXXXXX for these meds is processing. Est. arrival: Wednesday, Feb 07 - Saturday, Feb 10. Details @websitelink Then at 5:02 PM on the SAME day received the following text message: OptumRx: Your auto refill meds arrive in 1-2 weeks. To postpone or cancel your order, visit @websitelink. So what is it - am I going back to the future or is it really coming in 1-2 weeks? The rep could not comprehend why this was so confusing. If this is a glitch in their tech side - that company should be fired and get someone competent to handle notifications. Then when I call - they said it is "out of stock" and they don't know when it will arrive. When I sound frustrated with the situation and told the gentleman on the phone that I'm not upset with HIM but his company - he told me that he "does not respond to that "voice". I had to explain the situation to him for over 20 minutes and now I'm on an endless hold as he goes to trying a see if the med is actually coming. We will see if he comes back - have been on hold now for about 10 minutes. They came back... system error that they set me up for FUTURE auto refill to happen on Feb 25th - 4 days from now.... what the heck? This call took 59 mins and 23 seconds out of my day to get NO results. OH... and btw... if you are put on a "waitlist" only lasts for 30-days - NO where is that indicated on their website.

Optum RX is the worst pharmacy company I have ever had the unfortunate experience of dealing with in my life. If I could leave a negative star rating I would. I have had so many bad experiences in the short 7 week period that my insurance changed and I had to switch all my 90 day prescriptions to them from Walgreens as required by my Blue Cross Insurance. I recently changed from Blue cross of Illinois to blue Cross of Kansas City. I went from being able to get all my 90 day prescriptions filled at Walgreens to only being able to get them filled at Optum RX mail order. My life hasn’t been the same since. In the past 7 weeks I have logged somewhere around 20-30 hours on the phone with them Struggling to get prescriptions filled. I have a single prescription that I have been on the phone with them for about 10 hours over 8 different phone calls and never have been able to get it filled. It all boils down to a Copay card that they cannot figure out how to process in their system. After repeated calls and countless hours on the phone they finally were able to determine they do not have ability to process the Copay card and that I would not be able to use it with them. We only figured this out after I called the manufacturer while I had the customer service person on the phone at the same time trying to figure out what Optum RX was doing wrong. This means I cannot get my 90 day prescription from my Dr filled without paying a large amount that exceeds my budget to get the medication. There are a number of issues with this company that just cant be avoided. 1. Every time you call in, you get a different customer service person and you have to re-explain your problem and give them the same information over and over and over again. There is no type of ticketing system where they can keep track of repeat or follow up calls for the same issue to check on status or updates. 2. The customer service representatives have very little to no ability to resolve problems directly themselves. They have to take notes or send messages to other departments or people for them to follow up on. I never once received any calls or follow up from anyone on issues that I had called in about once I hung up the phone. Horrible service. No resolutions to problems. 3. The representatives cannot make outbound calls. So if your call gets dropped, they cant call you back and you have start all over again from the beginning with a new call. 4. They lack the ability to allow me to talk directly to the person that I need to talk to for resolving my problem. For example, I cannot talk directly to a pharmacist. I cannot talk directly to the person that knows why my copay card is not being accepted. Getting real answers from the right person is non-existent. 5. This is a big one. Optum RX DOES NOT handle preauthorization requests with your doctor. I was told repeatedly that I would have to fill out a form and send it to my doctor to have them fill out and send to the insurance company. This is crazy. I have never had to manage my own preauthorization on prescriptions. This is what my insurance premiums are supposed to be paying for. 6. Their web site IS NOT real time up to date. So status of fills and prices and shipping is not accurate. Sometimes you don’t get prices until its shipped and by that time its too late to cancel the order if you cant afford it. 7. I had issues with prescriptions that were automatically filled and shipped even though they were not setup for autofill and auto ship. I had several prescriptions that I canceled the same day they started filling these prescriptions. Four days later they shipped them to me anyway without notifying me and without even knowing what the cost was going to be for the prescriptions. Once they are shipped, you own them and cannot return them. Every time I was on the phone with them I told them do not ship me any meds without me knowing what the cost is. I’ve had problems with mail order in the past not applying my insurance and discounts properly and I don’t want them shipped unless I know they are processed correctly. 8. Managing your prescriptions with Optum takes a huge amount of time and resources compared to other pharmacies. I constantly had to follow up with them on why my meds were not shipping or not ready or what they were waiting on. They would remain in various statuses for days like they were waiting for someone to look at it. It was taking days and even weeks to get issues resolved since I had to manage things manually on my own with doctors. I have several that I have never been able to get resolved in the 7 weeks I’ve been trying to use them. 9. Their Voice automation system does not work reliably. It does not recognize basic phrases like my birthday. I would have to repeat it 2 or 3 times before it would give up and move on. Then I would have to give it again to the customer service rep.
