My wife has Multiple Sclerosis and requires infusion therapy every 6 months. We have been fortunate to have the medication manufacturer help us with out of pocket maximum deductibles for the past few years as the infusion costs are in excess of $70,000. For the first time, my wife received her infusion at home in January of this year. Optum has messed up the processing of the paperwork so badly that we will ultimately come out of pocket over $10,000 and it's only May. We have spent over 40 collective hours on the phone with Optum, the drug manufacturer, and United Health Care and no one has been able to help. In fact, it's been a vicious cycle of finger pointing between them all. In the meantime, we are paying full price for medications, therapy, etc. PLEASE use someone else for your infusion needs and prevent this experience from happening to you and your family.

The worst medical group I have ever dealt with. The Dr.'s are good Murry Hill), Everything else is horrible from the phone systems, to the portal. I'm only using them, because my internist is there. If you are not established with a Dr. there, I would recommend not to use.

Feb 2024 my Dr sent a prescription in. On March 8 I let him know I hadn't received anything, so he resent it. On March 28 I hadn't received it so he sent it a 3rd time. April 20 nothing, so Dr said he would send it a 4th time. I called optum today to see if it had the prescription. I was able to gather from the non English speaking person that it had the prescription but it wouldn't be processed for 2-3 weeks, for some unknown reason. Since I couldn't understand to rep, I asked to speak to a supervisor. 20 minutes of holding later, while listening to the worst music ever recorded in history, the rep got back on and said I'd have my meds in 2 to 3 days. I asked what if I dont get them, and she talked on and on while I ate an entire bowl of soup. When she stopped, since I couldn't understand one word, I asked if she asked me something. Yes she did. She needed my address again, the same on on record for 3 years. Then she began talking again, I told her we didn't need to talk more, goodbye. Optum is just a drug distributor, and a lousy, confused, inefficient one at that. To increase profit it uses non English speaking reps that cause more harm than good. It's really a terrible, aggravating service. Knowing what to expect, I always try to avoid having to call it.

Horrible call center, can not understand them and they ask you to repeat things multiple times, they cant understand us? Spelled my name 5 times Been waiting on a prescription for diabetes for 3 weeks and still waiting, now they say they need a prior authorization - the DR has given call backs 2 times. AVOID Optum at all costs!

I'm giving them one star because it's not possible to give them zero Stars. I switched to these people for better prices. I don't know if they're incompetent and nobody speaks English or if just nobody speaks English but you can't communicate with them. I switched to these Knuckleheads because I can get my Albuterol inhalers free through them. They promptly switched my prescription to inhalers that cost $350 without asking me. You'll save some money but they will drive you nuts you have to watch everything they do.

These people rarely speak good English… Phones are not answered in a timely manner and when they do it is a series of spelling name repeating date of birth and address They charged my card 2x for the same amount I have called daily and each repetitive phrase is 3 days to charge back then 7-10 days Still not received Suggestion : if you use them do not put a card on file This is most likely outsourced to Philippines or India … and for a “review” the phone never connects to it. Bad bad business. I’ll change pharmacies when my money ($550.00) is returned. (April 16-April 24)

Horrible company to deal with. So you get a discount off generic "maintenance" meds, but you are required to deal with inept pharmacists and member service people that provide varying answers to the same problem over and over. I'd rather deal with my local pharmacy than these buffoons. This isn't the first time, nor will it be the last. Thank you United Healthcare for such a crappy subsidiary.

This company (OptumRx) is dangerous and doesn't give a damn about you. They will outright lie to you on the phone, cancel orders without notifying you, and may or may not ship meds to you. I feel that it's Russian Roulette every time I have to deal with them. You don't know when or if you will get your meds. Why the federal government hasn't broken up all of United Healthcare and their companies, is beyond me. The worst healthcare company out there and it's a damn shame my employer forces me to use them for the insurance plan they use. Very dangerous company and I'm debating leaving my current employer to get the medications I need without them playing Russian Roulette with my medications.
