OPTION CARE'S UNSANITARY AND POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS POLICIES!!!
To start with my infusion supplies were supposed to be at my door within 8 hours of my discharge from the hospital, they showed up at my house at 5 AM the next day!!! Then there is the issue of the IV supplies, you would think if they shipped 21 doses, 1 IV bag EVERY 8 HOURS that they would send enough administration sets for the 21 doses, they sent 7 sets and NOT ONCE in the paperwork that accompanied those supplies did they explain to reuse each set over a 24 hour usage!!! I will be telling my doctors and the state boards about this UNSANITARY and UNSAFE POLICY of theirs!!!

I have to take two bags of saline per…
I have to take two bags of saline per day for hydration. I have no intestines due to several rounds with cancer and have had experimental surgery.. This need for saline is a life threatening situation. I am under the care of the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Option Care Health has been and is nothing but hell from day one. I have been doing these IV since '89 or so. I know what is covered and what is not. I have taught lessons at Mercy and at infusion companies to other patients. I have always had full coverage insurance now. They are the only infusion company in Rochester, MN so you have no choice. When we talked with their 'representative' at that time was a local nurse, I think. I now have a 'representative who by her phone number does not live in this area but is most likely 2 hours away in the big city. During this conversation when we first talked to them in person while in the Mayo hospital we discussed insurance, planning, filing, coverage, fiances and cost. They knew and were told to her face by my partner and I that after I filed out of pocket expense of 2000.00 My bill would be fully paid by insurance. We discussed the individual medical items I had used in the past and coverage. We discussed my past experience, training and procedures. They knew exactly what we understood this arrangement to be, what to plan, and how exactly we expected to pay and could afford. They knew exactly what we thought was the game plan. They knew. They agreed, never voice and changes from what we had said we understood and NEVER mention Per Diem when we rattled off what I needed and would us. A nurse representative brought to the items to teach' me to use. There was no misunderstand about equipment or what was expect as a company or as a client. I commented on the medical items commenting I had used before for years and in some cases were in the same brands I had used. So last monthly we tallied up what I had paid by my check payments and found that I had paid over the 2000.00 out of pocket cap fee. I was entitled to a reimbursement and insurance should have been filed and their accounting department should have caught it. Let me say that both my partner and I have worked for Pricewaterhouse Coopers, LLP. I have worked for 2 large law firms as well. We were familiar to these areas. We had to call them back after some time and said after some fast talking they told us we were wrong. My insurance only covered my bags of hydration (19.00 per bag). That they had the tubing, the sterile covers & caps to the ends of tubing and chest pic line, saline flushes, alcohol pads, change kits and all medical equipment need to administer the IV bags needed for infusion were covered under Per Diem. Now, when you get your invoice, of sorts, you get no information of costs of each item. You get no cost of the transportation. You get no idea of what your are paying for and how much is used or how much is being charge to what item in what category. category. I check with UPS or Fed Ex and the 2-3 boxes that OCH send me could be shipped for under 65.00. They use some transport company from which I could never get a price. My first billing from them was for over 800.00; that is with insurance paying the 19.00 per bag of saline. The second billing where I took no supplies or shipments from them for three weeks using old supplies from my former infusion company in Oklahoma and I finally ran out having to use OCH was over 590.00 approximately. I have lived in three states, been with several infusion companies and been trained by Mercy Hospital and two infusion companies to give my infusion by myself. Option care provided no assistance. The items haven't change in over 20 years and I have never had to pay over maybe 200.00 at the most. When I asked about Per Diem I got such a run around, no clarification and absolutely no information. They refused to give me any prices so I could figure out what I was paying. One 'representative' told me that Per Diem was' just a little bit of everything' of which she couldn't name one thing. And you want to talk to the billing department or the office in downtown Rochester - good luck with that. You can't get anyone but a 'representative' on the phone, eventually, who is not in this area. I told them about other companies I had dealt with and why NEVER, BUT NEVER was Per Diem ever spoken. And they never mentioned it when we discussed signing up with their services. I have been calling companies to order my supplies direct and then try getting reimburse from medicare and w couple are working with me. Companies I spoke with NOT ONE company had ever heard about Per Diem. This is ongoing and I hope never have to used this company. I don't think honest and integrity is words to use in conjunction with thier business standards or character as a business. By the way last I checked on customer care and satisfaction they rated 1.8

Do not trust this Pharmacy at all
Do not trust this Pharmacy at all. Over the last six weeks it has been nothing but hell and frustration dealing with this company. They can not keep the orders straight, deliver on time or properly prepare the prescription. They are suppose to send all IV medications on ice and they have not multiple times which in turn the whole batch is ruined before it arrives, in turn making my Elderly father miss important doses for his medication. The Pharmacist and Techs are extremely rude and clearly do not care about the health and wellbeing of the patients they only care about howe much money they get from the insurance. If you value yourself or someone you care for I would demand a different pharmacy.

My Experience with Option Care
I’ve been receiving infusions from this company for 3 years. I have had countless issues with them. I have always been polite and when needed, expressed the urgency of an upcoming infusion date.
Recently I’ve been completely unable to reach the pharmacy department for a refill for the past few days. When I finally did receive a call back, they told me they did not have doctors orders and transferred me to the intake department who communicated the pharmacy usually calls the doctor themselves if they just need an order renewal. The intake department was also very confused as to why they transferred me to their department.
I ended up calling my doctor’s office who was able to reach them and verified they have the orders and authorization. This is just one of the many issues I’ve had with them. Please be careful. I’ve missed infusion dates before because of issues on their behalf. I’m considering going through an infusion site now to avoid all of these close calls. It’s very stressful when I have an infusion coming up and I am unable to reach them or problems like these arise. I don’t want to handle any more close calls. Especially when the risk is my health.

They refused to answer the phone
They refused to answer the phone. They have not answered when my doctor called or when I called. We are waiting for them to deliver medicine and can’t get through.

Stay away at all costs
Stay away at all costs! All reviews are 100% true, they must pay terrible wages and be understaffed. They do not answer calls and when they say they will call back they never do. Do not rely on this hack show for your meds, you wont make it!

Look elsewhere
Look elsewhere for services. Stopped services before a nurse arrived. Although a sweet lady that helped with set up to receive services. Afterwards, services with nursing was unprofessional and disrespectful. Recieved an email to address the problems in writing. A helpful tip is to place problems in writing and speak to a nurse first to set up an appointment for home services before medication arrives. Finally, you have other options for services, take them by asking your Dr. for a referral to a different company!

Horrible Service - Go Elsewhere!
Horrible service. I had Sepsis and was on IV antibiotics. Called Option Care for help hooking up the IV. No call back after 12 hours and multiple calls to them. Missed my dose entirely and about to miss a second dose. I called the hospital and had an answer in about 10 minutes. AVOID "OPTION CARE" IF AT ALL POSSIBLE. If I could give zero stars I would. I should clarify that after 12 hours (and missing an entire dose), I was able to speak with a "nurse" who must also do daycare at the same time. I couldn't hear her over the crying/screaming baby that was obviously right next to the phone. When I told her that I couldn't hear her, and asked her to put the baby in another room, she told me to "just go to the emergency room" and hung up on me.
