Ocean County Veterinary Hospital has a very high standard when it comes to every facet of treatment. From the moment I walked in the first day they were more friendly and more helpful than any other vet we had taken Coco to. Coco is blind and requires extra special attention and every other place just wasn't willing or able to deal with her, so finding a vet that understood her problems and was willing to cooperate with her was a huge relief. It was also good to know that at every office owned by the practice the same environment of professionalism and friendliness was maintained. I highly recommend OCVH to everyone I know who is looking for a vet or has a subpar vet.

I always have such a positive experience when i bring my dog here. The Vets always get on the floor to my dogs level to introduce themselves to her, it makes her much more comfortable. The facility is always clean, and front desk/vet techs are happy and upbeat. I would highly reccomend to anyone!

I went to the Point Pleasant location for an emergency and the staff and Doctor made my pets & I feel welcome. The Doctor was gentle and soft spoken to make my dogs not feel nervous. I will continue to go to this office as long as the Doctor is the same.

I took my puppy there with the referral from a friend. What an amazing place. The staff were so kind and the vet was amazing! I will definitely be referring my friends with pets there! !

When I noticed that my cat's appetite had declined, I brought her to another veterinary clinic to be checked out. I found out then that she had FIV (feline AIDS). Up until then, she seemed to be doing just fine. Their answer was for me to euthanize my cat. I couldn't do it. It just didn't feel right. As I said, she was fine just a few days before that. It would feel more like murder than mercy. So, I ended up bringing her to OCVH for a second opinion. They did confirm that she had FIV, which I wasn't surprised by, but I did learn that she was also suffering from anemia, which the other clinic never mentioned despite the test results showing that, as pointed out by Dr. Mitchell. I was given some medicine to help with the anemia, and an appetite enhancer as well. Never once did Dr. Mitchell mention anything about euthanizing my cat. My visit with OCVH and Dr. Mitchell was over two months ago. Had I listened to the other clinic, my cat would be dead now. Instead, my cat and I have had that much more time together. Unfortunately, FIV is getting the better of her, and it's coming to the point that I'm afraid I'm going to have to put her down. I don't want her to suffer. But at least we had a little more time together, and for that, I'm very grateful for Dr. Mitchell's optimistic and realistic approach. Thank you for your humane approach not only to my cat, but to me.

I brought my new puppy in for a "first visit" and I left feeling like the whole visit was about what they could sell me. The Vet Tech and the Vet were both very nice when they weren't trying to convince me to buy some product. (They are the reason I gave this review a 3 instead of a 2, I'm assuming the oversell is their job and not their preference.) The charge for the visit was very high. I left feeling disappointed and dissatisfied. I get this is a business but this was over the top. I think their bottom line would be better served by keeping clients. Looking for a new vet who's more about my dog and less about their bottom line!

I made the mistake of cutting my dog's nail too short and blood was spurting out. VERY SCARY!!! I called and was given immediate on phone assistance, and an immediate (as soon as I could arrive) appointment. Upon arrival, we were immediately ushered into a room and a vet tech took care of my dog. Within a few minutes, the Veterinarian was also in the room. Everyone was calm, kind and helpful. I would recommend Ocean County Veterinary Hospital with no reservations based upon my experience on a Sunday morning, Father's Day.
