Scam insurance company, they will lure you in either cheap rates. But when it comes to filing a claim they will denie your claim. They hire a bias engineer company that will lie to deny your claim. Stay away from this company at all cost. Pay a bit more and go with reputable insurance company.

Title: Unacceptable 3+ month delay and endless bureaucracy on a straightforward claim Review: I have had an absolutely exhausting and frustrating experience dealing with Obie Insurance and their claims management company, IPG Claims. It has been over three months since a water backup incident occurred at my property, and I am still fighting to get my payouts finalized. The communication and processing times are entirely unacceptable. After waiting months, I was told a reissued check would take 3–5 business days to process following a simple policy correction. It has now been well past that window with zero updates. To make matters worse, trying to get answers on a second claim regarding structural and rental loss damages feels like hitting a brick wall. Dealing with the endless runaround between the broker/insurer (Obie) and the claims processor (IPG Claims) has been a nightmare. If you are a property owner looking for reliable coverage and a claims team that acts with urgency during an emergency, look elsewhere.

They are scam artists, read your actual policy details, especially ask for their Replacement Cost Estimate. Their service is based on separating you from your money as quickly as possible with a policy that looks good at first glance. And an online checkout that's modern and fast. Once you dig into your policy you'll realize it is completely skewed against you and you will have a huge financial loss if you ever need to make a claim. They wrote me a policy for 493k but their RCE was 1.65 million!!! So they would only cover less than 30% of the actual policy I paid for. PLUS they charge a 25% cancellation fee for any policy, even if you paid in full upfront. Absolutely shameful customer service, I will never trust them again. And I learned a hard, expensive lesson about reading the fine print.

I requested a quote online and it took them 4 days to get back to me and tell me they don't insure homes with metal roofs. Very slow response

Glen Roberts did a great job quoting a renter's policy as the landlord. Then, he help transition our service from our previous insurance company.

The worst insurance carrier I have ever worked with! They subcontract everything out including the claims adjuster which delays your claim, it has been 2 months and still no answer! Terrible communication and terrible customer service. Be careful with this carrier, better yet, get another one!

All the reviews are on the front end, getting a policy and quote. This review is about how Obie’s crafty policy writing back fires in your face when you have a fire and need to make a claim if the property is tenanted. I have a second home in Palm desert. I rent it part time when I’m not there. The policy Glen Robert’s provided has a clause that says that coverage (tenants liability) for furnishings inside the unit are only available if the tenant causes the fire. What about the rest of the time? Tenant was using the dryer and a fire broke out on May 3,2025. He calls the fire dept who does more damage than the fire and they deem the cause as mechanical malfunction. Contacted Glen multiple times for assistance, his only reply is he does not have access to policy once it’s sold. So now Obie’s underwriter (they have multiple and it’s a three ring circus) won’t cover the cost of pack out or cleaning or replacement of my brand new furnishings because they say the tenant didn’t cause the fire. Obie is unethical and not transparent. I was up front and told Glen that my condo is furnished with my furnishings and that it is rented part of the year and now I’m left holding the bag on all the costs related to pack out and cleaning or replacement of my furniture. Unbelievable. It’s September and my place is still sitting ripped apart and still fighting with the desk adjusters to get things moving. Only after I wrote a negative better business bureau review did I get some movement. I won’t be renewing my policy in December as it’s been the worst experience of my life dealing with Obie, Arcana, Alacrity, and Trisura. Run in the opposite direction!!!
