This is the worst company to ever exist I don’t even see how they’ve managed to accumulate 2 stars. I thought national greed was the worst but these people take the cake. There in the process of being sued for stealing money and they still suck it’s a joke companies like this need to be terminated immediately.

SMART METER INSTALL NIGHTMARE
NYSEG pays Grid One Solutions to do work for them. Over 2 months ago, I was supposed to get a new smart electric meter. After weeks of trying to get an appt. and seeing no one, finally someone shows up and says they can't do it because it is rusted shut; a specialist has to come do it. I try to make the appt. and am told they are really busy, someone will call me. A week later, I get a NYSEG notice that I opted out and will be getting charged a monthly fee because I do not have a smart meter! I called NYSEG and told them no such thing happened. NYSEG removes the opt out and notifies Grid One. I try to make appt again and get told the same thing, busy, will call back. A week later, I get another notice saying I opted out by refusing access to the meter!! It was dated the same day I called NSYEG the first time! I called NYSEG again and told them it's just plain not true. NYSEG supervisor gets on 3 way call with Grid One supervisor and they both agree it will be taken care of. So I call again to make the appt. and now I am told they already installed a smart meter at my address the day before the sent the 2nd notice saying I refused access! Sorry, no. Same old meter is still here. Supposedly a grid one supervisor will call me back. My next call may be to the newspapers and TV stations. You can not make up stuff this nuts. I wonder how many other people Grid One is doing this to. Stay tuned.
Update: another week has gone by and 3 more calls to Grid One and NYSEG with no results. My last call to customer service resulted in Grid One trying to call 3 supervisors and not one answering the call. I finally got a call back from a supervisor who promised the meter would be changed within 2 days and would take only 10 minutes and that I didn't need to be home. Well, it's been three days and now I get "I'll look into it" from the same supervisor. Next week I'm sending certified letters stating I've done everything possible I can. I'm done wasting my time with this nonsense. Are they doing this on purpose? Try charging me extra because I don't have a smart meter and I'll be filing complaints with every regulator possible and contacting the media.

IT Dept needs some serious help
Wow, there has to be a bunch of clowns that work at this company. Especially in the IT dept. Your website is a joke. If you change your phone number on one screen, (Account details) it does not automatically change it on the preferences screen (or allow you too). Least of my worries. To cancel e billing, does not allow you to do on website. You can enroll, but not cancel. What a joke! Go back to school IT dept, your website is showing your stupidity!

I've been trying to get a light pole…
I've been trying to get a light pole installed for 4 months now. The process is super slow and no one seems to know how long the entire process will take. We are stuck at the easement phase that no one explained to me clearly that I would have to take it upon myself to get ahold of my neighbor. Now that I have done that and they filled out the paperwork, Nyseg states they don't have it. I don't believe this! I ask to speak to a manager and after waiting over an hour on the phone, they tell me they are not available and someone will call me back. But that it won't matter the manager will tell me the same thing the agent has. This is what I'm told giving me no hope. They are not customer focused or empathetic at all. We are at the stage where you can lose your home paying for a mortgage on a home that is inhabitable. I have no electric or plumbing! Not a good start to moving in to a new home. They don't recognize emergency and don't seem to care what is at stake.

Same Old Issues
Well he happened again. For the second time in a year NYSEG erroneously skipped a billing cycle for me and I was double billed. I called them after not recieveing my monthly bill for July and by the time they generated the bill the August bill was due also. Their incompetence continues.

As a SNOWBIRD NYSEG WILL NOT HELP
As a SNOWBIRD, I first went online to create my account on May 4, 2023. I then phoned NYSEG to confirm it. The female that I spoke with laughed. Probably due to a problem that was fixed previously which they were trying to collect for a closed account that was from 2021. I requested that the power be turned on May 15, 2023. When my husband and I arrived at our residence on May 21, 2023 there was NO POWER and my husband needs to be on an oxygen concentrator to sleep at night. Plus, we had no water since there is no power for the pump. So, no toilet flushing either without water. We called NYSEG Emergency and since the meter was red tagged all we could do is NOTHING, until the 22nd to speak to customer service. On 5/22, I called NYSEG Customer Service, which then routed me to Turn off, Turn on portion of NYSEG. Then, they transferred me to Emergency Services of NYSEG which I was told that someone would be calling us back in two or three DAYS. And they they were going to route me again back to customer service. I said NO, as I already had gone around the NYSEG offices and no help. I then called NY State PUC and they gave me a case number and if no one called in three hours to call back. I had to call back to the PUC. Then, NYSEG person came to our house to turn on the power. What is crazy is that he is the one that has been turning our power off and on for several years as SNOWBIRDS we close the account and then HAVE TO START A NEW ONE each year to turn the power back on. A woman from NYSEG did call and stated that there USED TO BE SNOWBIRD accounts but they stopped that. No wonder as I was being harassed for a closed account. We NEVER had problems with paying in the past with any of the NYSEG account numbers. And closed accounts CANNOT be re-used by Snowbirds. Waste Management allows Snowbird accounts and they have no problems with it. NYSEG just wants your money and DOES NOT CARE to assist Snowbirds in keeping one account open and if need be dormant. Luckily my husband had an oxygen tank to use for sleeping. But, when he called the oxygen company they stated that the tank is NOT for SLEEPING. NYSEG needs to get SNOWBIRD ACCOUNTS again to alleviate problems as we had. Especially the 21st was our anniversary and not a good one without power.

Getting billed $300 a month for a…
Getting billed $300 a month for a one-bedroom apartment with no running AC or heat. They have charged me late fees and threatened to shut off service every month despite having autopay set up three separate times. Support is impossible to reach; expect to be waiting on hold for multiple hours, and when you do reach someone good luck understanding them.
