Stole $20000 from my wife. Didn’t deliver Amazon marketing. Stopped responding after 3 months of them pretending to do marketing. They changed their name from pretending to be the New York City book publishers to changing the name ny publishers only now to change it to authors publishers to evade the consumers they have been scamming thousands from. Reporting the filthy sham. They aren’t real and likely from myanmar.

The work was extremely poor quality and scam
The work was extremely poor quality, and they only performed half the contract. This company in my opinion is a scam, and is out there only to con people out of their money! Avoid at all costs!!! Have turn them over to the police, six different addresses and all of them fake .

THIS IS NOT A LEGITIMATE PUBLISHER
UPDATE: THIS IS NOT A LEGITIMATE PUBLISHER - IT IS A SCAM TARGETING AUTHORS
I placed $8700 since I am suing them in a Small Claims NY and suing them also for extra since they wasted 6 months, I have my attorney sending the lawsuit and have forwarded all documentation to the authorities I am in communication with.
After 6 months and $7700 paid, I can confirm NY Book Publishers is a fraudulent operation. Here's the scheme:
THE SCAM:
High-pressure sales call with exaggerated revenue promises
FRAUDULENT VANITY PRESS SCAM - SMALL CLAIMS FILED
THIS IS NOT A LEGITIMATE PUBLISHER - FRAUDULENT VANITY PRESS SCAM
COMPANY VIOLATED MY PRIVACY ON TRUSTPILOT
UPDATED MAY 2026: NY Book Publishers just violated my privacy by disclosing my full private name "R. Colon" on Trustpilot WITHOUT MY AUTHORIZATION in their Trustpilot response.
I never gave permission to publish my private information publicly. Screenshot taken and forwarded to:
My attorney (preparing lawsuit for privacy violation)
NY Attorney General
Federal Trade Commission
Trustpilot compliance
This privacy violation demonstrates their unprofessional, concerning illegal conduct. What legitimate business publicly discloses customer private information to retaliate against a negative review?
SMALL CLAIMS LAWSUIT FILED. ATTORNEY RETAINED. MULTIPLE REGULATORY AGENCIES INVESTIGATING.
COUNTERING THEIR FALSE TRUSTPILOT RESPONSE - POINT BY POINT:
THEIR LIE #1: "Three books published proves not a scam"
REALITY: All they did was basic uploading of MY content to Amazon - work worth approximately $500. I provided:
All three complete manuscripts
All three professional book covers
All materials
Anyone can upload to Amazon for $500. That's not "professional publishing services" worth $7,700.
They failed EVERY major contracted deliverable:
ZERO Amazon marketing campaigns (primary Contract 1 deliverable)
Volume II audiobook incomplete (primary Contract 2 deliverable) Failed to upload Volume 1 audiobook despite having had the ability to get the codes from me as proven in the codes screenshots that have been forwarded to the authorities to dismantle their scam illegal operation.
ZERO copyright certificates received (primary Contract 2 deliverable)
Posted ZERO social media February 2026 (complete abandonment)
Failed to post contracted 8-10 posts/month December, January, February, March
Basic uploading ≠ substantial performance. This is the vanity press scam.
LIE #2: "Copyright filings prove we performed"
THE FRAUD: December 4, 2025 - Don Rhodes LIED claiming NY Book Publishers had "connections to U.S. Copyright Office" and could deliver certificates in "20 business days" (I have screenshot - forwarded to court and authorities).
This lie induced me to sign Contract 2 and pay $3,000.
REALITY - May 2026 (5+ months later): I have received ZERO copyright certificates at my address.
Filing an application (which anyone can do without "connections") is NOT delivering the contracted service. They lied about having Copyright Office connections to scam me. This is false advertising.
Standard processing: 3-4 months. Their "expedited" service with "connections": 5+ months and nothing received.
LIE #3: "Contract 2 was negotiated by client"
FACT: December 5, 2025 - I emailed Don Rhodes stating "$3,000 ONLY" for Contract 2 (screenshot attached to court filing)
My December 17 email mentioned potential $1,000 for THIRD audiobook IF they completed Volumes I and II the audiobooks first. They failed to complete Volume II, so conditional payment was never triggered.
They're fabricating a $5,000 contract. This is fraud.
For the rest of the review about Lie 4 - Lie 6 check out google since trustpilot not allowing a document file.
This company is under investigation by multiple regulatory agencies. Small claims lawsuit filed. Attorney preparing larger suit.
You've been warned. Protect yourself and other authors.
Check my Google review for additional details. Check other victims' reviews for pattern confirmation.
Total Paid: $7,700
Value Delivered: ~$500
Legal Status: Small claims filed, attorney retained, regulatory complaints active
UPDATED: May 2026 - Response to company's false Trustpilot claims and unauthorized disclosure of my private information.
Don't use. 11Lab makes audiobook $50-100 better quality - they charged thousands.
This is a fraudulent vanity press scam. You've been warned.
IF YOU'VE ALREADY PAID THEM:
Request refund immediately citing money-back guarantee
Document everything (emails, calls, contracts, platform analytics)
File complaints: FTC, NY Attorney General, BBB, CFPB
Dispute with bank if they refuse refund
File small claims (up to $10,000 in NY)
Warn other authors (protected consumer speech)
Response from NY Book PublishersMay 12, 2026
We are responding formally to this review as NY Book Publishers. We respect every client’s right to share their experience and take that responsibility seriously. However, this review contains several factual inaccuracies that we are obligated to address publicly and transparently so prospective authors have an accurate understanding of what occurred.
First, this review was posted under a name that does not correspond to the client’s identity. The individual involved is Rafael R. Colon, who publishes under the pen name Tak Moomyn, the author name attached to the three titles referenced below. We believe Trustpilot should be aware of this discrepancy, particularly given the serious allegations being made anonymously.
Second, the reviewer states they paid $8,700. Our signed agreements and verified payment records confirm the total paid was $7,700. This is a material inaccuracy and must be corrected.
Additionally, three books authored under the pen name Tak Moomyn are fully published and currently live on Amazon:
• The Love Bug & The Spring Breeze – Volume I (Published Jan. 9, 2026)
• Volume II (Published Jan. 9, 2026)
• Volume III (Published Mar. 25, 2026)
These titles are publicly available and independently verifiable. Three live books on Amazon are not evidence of a scam operation.
The Volume I audiobook was also fully produced, professionally narrated, mastered, and prepared for distribution. Its release has remained pending because the client did not provide final authorization despite repeated requests.
Copyright filings were also submitted on the client’s behalf with the U.S. Copyright Office and remain active under the following case numbers:
• Volume I: 1-15107490491
• Volumes II & III: 1-15108282559
The reviewer also describes Contract 2 as a predatory upsell. In reality, the agreement was personally negotiated by the client through written correspondence, including detailed instructions regarding audiobooks, trailers, and deliverables.
For additional transparency, the reviewer’s complaints regarding AI-assisted illustration work concern complimentary services that were never included in the signed contracts. These enhancements were offered at no additional cost and could be accepted or declined freely.
The reviewer also acknowledged changing platform credentials in April 2026, which revoked our access to Amazon systems before campaigns, A+ Content, SEO implementation, and advertising deployment could be completed. Revoking access and later citing non-execution as negligence does not accurately reflect the sequence of events.
Finally, while a formal refund request was already under review through our Litigation and Compliance Division, the client simultaneously initiated a bank chargeback dispute after substantial deliverables had already been completed and published. This matter is now being handled through the appropriate legal and administrative channels.
NY Book Publishers delivered substantial contracted services over a six-month engagement. While communication challenges occurred during this complex creative process, we reject the claims that this was fraud or a scam. We remain committed to resolving the matter professionally and have extended multiple written offers to do so. That offer remains open.

Not a Real Company
Fake names, empty promises, bad product, and a contempt for authors permeates just beneath the cheery helpful ethos they so deftly fabricate. Go anywhere but here if you are looking for help bringing your art to life. These guys will do anything in their power to ensure that they get the most of out of you and provide the least amount of value for you. Bad people herein.
