I had a terrible experience with this outfit. They were very persistent in messaging me to give me a quote, but once the booking process started, the "guaranteed" price meant nothing. They never showed up for the pickup. Then, I received a bid from a third party other broker company showing me different offers from nrg that was much higher than what I was quoted. When I tried to get answers, they went silent. Shipping a car is stressful enough without having to deal with unrealistic quotes and zero reliability

Bad experience
I made a poor decision using this company to transport a vehicle. First, from what I can ascertain, this company does not actually own any transportation trucking, they are simply a broker. From my experience, they were not the cheapest, but they were close. I trusted the reviews here, but if you search elsewhere you may find more honest reviews that correlate to my actual experience. This company promised a Saturday pick up and had 5 days to arrange it. I was always led to believe that the pick up would occur at 11am on Saturday and that time came and passed. Not only did I have a person scheduled to be present for the pick up, but after inquiring they had me fooled again that the pick up would happen hours later, only to never happen. We played this game many times and only when I came to my senses did I realize I was being played. I truly believe they never had a truck scheduled and after plenty of rescheduling one never came to be. They required a deposit and getting money back was difficult, but thankfully my credit card company came through. I will say, after using and alternative bidding website where actually haulers can bid on a shipment did I realize that the price this company offered me was never actually going to result in a successful pick up.

Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry for the missed pickup and communication issues — we understand how frustrating this must have been.
As a transport coordinator, we work with independent carriers, but we should have managed this better. We are currently working to resolve the issue and would appreciate the opportunity to make it right if you’re open to it.
Your feedback helps us improve, and we truly value it.

Price Hike Despite Signed Agreement
This is the initial message I received:
"Hi, this is Bryan Wilson from NRG Transportation. I received your request and can have your vehicle shipped safely for 400 dollars all-inclusive. The price includes:
Door-to-door delivery Full insurance coverage
All taxes and fees 24/7 customer support
No upfront payment Up to 150 lbs of luggage included
Everything is covered with no hidden costs.
What pickup date works best for you?
+1(716) 650-6826"
I replied:
"Thanks for the quote! To make sure everything's clear, could you please send me a contract with the all inclusive price of $400 via email to t*****@aol.com? I just want to have all the terms locked in before we proceed."
He replied:
"done" "When would you like to ship your vehicle ?"
I replied:
"Does tomorrow work for you?"
He replied:
"Yes"
This is when I thoroughly looked over the contract before signing it.
The next day, 4/3/2026, he gives me his first excuse of why he cannot deliver:
"Update: Driver ended up stopping by a local shop since there was hub seal oil leaking on of the axles. He has to get it checked for safety reasons. As soon as he is out, I will let you know about the new ETA. Give me 2hr max pls, if he isnt out by then, we will try to send a different carrier for today. Will keep you posted. Thanks"
His next excuse:
"They ended up ordering parts from another shop so he had to cancel"
"I will get you someone else"
(Bryan Wilson superimposed an image of the hours for Copart)
"for Monday"
Sunday night, 4/5/2026, came and then Bryan text me this:
"Good evening. Just confirmed a driver to pick up tomorrow and deliver next day. However one more thing to confirm with you. The market is really bad right now due to sudden increase of diesel prices and on top of that there is an increased inspection activities going on which is causing a delay and shortage of drivers in every area. I was able to confirm only this available driver who can pick it up tomorrow around noon and he is asking total $850 as the final price for the spot on his trailer. Can I go ahead and book it for your VAN?"
Today, 4/6/2026, Bryan Wilson of NRG Transportation text me:
"Here is the updated contract for $800. Pls sign it. I will cover the spot on the trailer as soon as it is signed." "Good morning"
"We will do $50 discount for the inconvenience but this is very big vehicle and diesel prices are going up. That is why drivers are asking extra on the rate"
I replied:
"I have an existing agreement. I will not sign another. Please deliver my vehicle as agreed upon."
He replied:
"We are the middleman here. The contract is your authorization for us to work on your behalf. Without it, we can’t post your vehicle to the national load boards or negotiate with drivers. It’s basically the green light that lets us start the process."
"but we dont own the trucks to be able to give the final price or time"
"it was an estimate but now we have a confirmed driver"
I replied:
"Your contract did not state any of this. I thoroughly looked it over. What time can I expect delivery?"
Then I resent him a copy of the contract and also resent my original text:
"Thanks for the quote! ...I just want to have all the terms locked in before we proceed."
He replied:
"In that case I will keep looking once I find someone around the contracted price, I will let you know"
I replied:
"Okay, thanks"
He replied:
"You can expect the delivery for tomorrow if you can pay $800. Otherwise, I will keep you posted"
I replied:
"There were others who guaranteed cheaper. I did not expect the unexpected from you. Why did you not disclose this information before you issued me a contract? It was your choice to 'hussle me' when you did not have to. "
"I will not pay more than the agreed upon price and I expected delivery on 4-3-26."
He replied:
"pls check with them meanwhile. I will guarantee the same thing will happen cuz we all work under the same system with them"
"All brokers giving an estimate. Drivers dont reach customers directly"
I replied:
"Not with a binding contract."
He replied:
"You are working with a middleman here sir. Think of it like hiring a real estate agent. Signing with them doesn’t mean your house is sold that day. It means they can start marketing it and negotiating with buyers. Same here. The contract allows us to market your shipment to drivers"
I had a signed contract with Bryan Wilson, of NRG Transportation, for a four hundred dollar rate, after confirming that was the all in price. They were deceptive from the start, knowing they would hike the price later, and showed no regard for the signed contract. They failed to show up on the agreed date, forced me to wait indefinitely, and then demanded eight hundred fifty dollars, claiming the original price was just an estimate and that all brokers do the same. Unprofessional, dishonest, and I would not recommend. Is this NRG's common practice?

Bait and switch
Bait and switch, had me waiting for a pickup that fell threw, then immediately had a replacement for nearly double the initial quote, despite repeating the same quote the day before. Got nasty when I said I was no longer interested and to stop messaging me, claiming they all do it.

No drivers to be found…
I needed a car moved immediately because the owner of the property where my car currently is wants it gone, so I searched for companies that move cars. During my initial conversation with this company , I was informed that they could get the car moved tonight. The process was started at 6pm and I paid the reservation fee. After 3 hours of texting back and forth with no clear response, I am then told that the company can get drivers in an hour but not in the evening. At 3 1/2 hours, they did apologize for lying to me and for our inconvenience and they will see about getting my reservation fee refunded. I was also informed at this time that they do not have their own drivers, but they use driver companies.
I believe that customers would be better served if they know this information at the beginning of their process. The company should inform customers initially that they can’t get drivers after 6pm. And that they don’t have their own drivers. This will save a lot of people the headaches that come from false or misleading information.

They still owe us
This company indirectly made it clear that they have no intention of paying what they owe us. We worked as a carrier under a contract for a load totaling $1,100, where $900 was our freight service fee (to be collected from the customer upon delivery) and $200 was the broker’s fee.
The customer later provided us with their contract showing a total amount of $900, which means the broker had already received their fee from the customer. According to that contract, the customer was only supposed to pay us $700.
We tried to resolve this issue with NRG Transportation, but they didn’t explain anything substantial. They told us that a manager would contact us, but that never happened. After that, they blocked us on almost all phone numbers. This situation is exactly why we are leaving this review. We still haven’t received our $200, and this is extremely unprofessional and disappointing
