Nissan Frontier lacks critical safety feature
I have been searching for a good mid-size truck and had settled on the Nissan Frontier when I discovered that it doesn't provide a basic safety protection feature: a locking gas cap with an in cab release mechanism. To me this is bizarre. Why spend $50k+ for a vehicle when any malicious random passerby can simply access your gas tank by opening the fuel door and twisting the cap? Simply tipping in ONE CUP OF SUGAR OR VARIOUS LIQUIDS WILL DESTROY THE ENGINE. This should be standard. I don't pay $50k+ and then have to go to an aftermarket supplier, who can't provide an in cab fuel door release anyway. A good way to strand an unsuspecting driver in an unsafe area would be to do that VERY THING.
