We started Nibbles after one of us got a vet bill that turned a scary night into an impossible choice. The diagnosis was hard enough. Deciding whether we could afford the care made it worse. We knew that moment was not rare. Most pet families have lived a version of it, or are dreading the day they will. So we built the thing we wished we had: a card that helps with the cost of care before the emergency, not a stack of paperwork after it. Pets are family. No one should have to choose between their pet and their budget. Apply today

I'll be closing my card as soon as I've received billing for all of the charges I've made. Their method of payment is very unsatisfactory -- even my bank says they've never heard of such a method and agrees that it may be unsafe.

All You Wanted to Know About Nibbles but Were Afraid to Ask
I applied for the Nibbles credit card under the assumption that it would cover about 80% of veterinary bills with a reasonable annual deductible, as many insurance companies do. After activating the card, I explored their website regarding the pet insurance "benefits." I was surprised to discover there is an annual deductible of $950, which must be met before coverage begins at a rate of 80%. This means I would have to pay $950 out-of-pocket before receiving any reimbursement!
Additionally, there are what they call "Additional Benefits," each requiring a separate monthly premium. These include: - Prescription Care for an extra $2.69 per month - A Wellness Plan, which covers vaccinations and teeth cleaning, also for $2.69 per month - Enhanced Care for $25 per month, which includes prescriptions and illness protection - Complete Care, which encompasses prescriptions, illness coverage, and preventive and wellness care.
I am not suggesting that this is a rip-off, but I do recommend reading all the details carefully; otherwise, you might end up with a very high monthly premium. Therefore, I advise: Caveat Emptor—Buyer Beware.
I will only use the credit card for my pets' needs through merchants like Chewy, Allyvet, Valley Vet, Santa Cruz Animal Health, and other online vendors that provide products for my animals. If that doesn’t work out well, I will cancel the credit card.

Charged $70 late fee over two…
Charged $70 late fee over two uninformed missed payments, with no payment reminder and no text. Used card only for my dog. Dog had cold/runny nose, got meds. Submitted vet bill and summary. 2+ months no response, then asked for info I already sent. Another month wait, denied with no clear reason. Canceled insurance and card. Not worth it.

This has been a nightmare
This has been a nightmare. I enrolled for my senior dog, autocorrect happened and the dob was listed as 8/22/2025 instead of 8/22/2015. I reached out to customer service in July of 2025 to say .. the DOB is incorrect. They said they would correct it and I continued paying the monthly fee. Kept submitting claims, they kept stating they are pending and take a while to process. Well my dog got sick in August. All previous claims I heard nothing about and got no follow up. When I take her to the vet for a sick visit I get an email saying it’s denied bc the vet has her date of birth wrong. I said .. no they don’t and I tried to correct this last year. Apparently this escalated to senior customer support and I’m not hearing back, at the same time I have to do a recheck appt which led to an ultrasound. I’m still trying to submit the claims. The good news is my senior pup is fine and just ate something bad. The bad news is Nibbles tells me my premium is going up from $25 a month to $140 a month, again .. understandable but what about the claims I’ve been submitting after trying to get this corrected?! There’s no phone number and apparently I’ve been paying premium after premium monthly to find out my dog isn’t covered because their customer service team is completely incompetent and never followed up or changed her date of birth when I asked and told me her updated premium. Looks like she will be covered on October 5th of this year but all these claims I need processed occurred while customer service never followed through with my request from last year to correct the date of birth. There’s no number to call and fully explain my situation and I work in human healthcare and have been trying to get this solved via emails that take 3-4 days for anyone to respond and I still don’t know what’s happening with my dogs claims, on top of the fact that for 3 weeks we thought she could have cancer or be at the end of her life. This is my BEST friend we are talking about and trying to figure out claims between crying, showing up to work and constant monitoring of my baby has made this a really hard season of life and Nibbles has just added to the unbearable amount of stress I’ve been through with this situation. NOTHING has been processed or covered and I’ve been paying for this policy for over a year. I’m assuming I’m now responsible for all of the bills with no help from the coverage due to their error. I’m hoping this gets resolved through slow to respond emails with some reimbursement at LEAST for the premiums I’ve been paying monthly with un usable insurance before I will have to get my lawyer involved. This is not how you treat customers. Also … her date of birth has STILL not been corrected in the app.. after months of trying.

Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service, the worst in the business. Their website is so buggy that its almost useless. Their onboard is a total fiasco. I when through the entire onboarding process entering information about all three of my pets and agreeing to pay the full cost of the insurance upfront. When I receive the credit card in the mail and went to activate it they spring a bunch of new, really bad, TOS stuff. So I agreed to the TOS at onboarding, then the company changed the TOS and wants you to agree to the new TOS after the card was issued. That sparked me to do a deep dive into the company and found they may be having financial problems. I have filed a complaint against the company with the Texas Attorney general over the fact that I have request for my accout to be canceled multiple times and so far they have refused the close the account even though I have a zero balance.

Avoid Nibbles
Avoid Nibbles unless you want to pay way more than you will probably ever see! Fees, Fees, Fees! I don't receive statements and then get hit with fees. They charge "interest" for previous months after paying in full, so that there is a charge on the account... and then they can charge another fee. Getting through to a person is difficult, and then they "pass it up to someone else"... after time passes and you get hit with another fee. They denied a claim because of a "preexisting condition" when it was the first time I'd brought my pet to the vet for that problem.

Good luck trying to pay!
If I could give a lower score than one I would. For the past week I’ve been trying to set up auto pay when I first login it gives me an error when I finally get to the thing about setting up auto pay it says that I’ve set a Bank up via plaid. I go through the steps and it just keeps returning back to the same thing unable to make a payment unless I call them up I sent one customer Help request fill out their required information and I haven’t heard anything back I sent another one today
Simply put they don’t know what they’re doing with electronic payments I would highly advise you to avoid putting anything on the credit card because you’re gonna find it impossible to pay. And for their information I already have two valid accounts under my plaid account
