Danish-American founder Jannik Olander started Nialaya as a tribute to a Shaman he met on a life-changing journey through India. Inspired by spiritual insight and a deep belief in energy healing, he returned to Los Angeles with a vision: to create meaningful jewelry that channels personal power and intention.Rooted in a “Handmade in Hollywood” ethos, every Nialaya piece is crafted by hand in the brand’s Los Angeles studio using carefully selected pearls, gemstones, beads, sterling silver, stainless steel, leather, and precious stones. What began as a small collection sold to a renowned boutique in Beverly Hills quickly caught the attention of Hollywood’s elite. Nialaya soon became one of the most celebrity-endorsed jewelry brands in the world.Since opening its flagship store at 8215 Melrose Avenue in 2010, Nialaya has grown into a globally recognized name. From Los Angeles to Tokyo, its bold, boho-luxe designs have become symbols of individuality, style, and spiritual depth — more than jewelry, they are statements of purpose.

⚠️ WARNING TO POTENTIAL BUYERS — PLEASE THINK CAREFULLY BEFORE ORDERING
I purchased a bracelet from this shop. While the delivery was quick and easy, the product itself was extremely disappointing. Once I opened the package, I found the quality to be far below my expectations, and the bracelet was much smaller than I expected based on the advertisement.
I paid $316 for the bracelet + $50 postage = $366 total. The advertisement did not clearly mention the cost of returning the item. I decided to return it anyway, and the return postage cost me an additional $147.
So I ended up spending $513 in total on an experience that left me extremely disappointed.
My strong advice to buyers: please do your research, carefully check the product measurements and quality, and make sure you fully understand the return policy and who pays the return postage before placing an order.
I personally would not purchase from this shop again based on my experience. Buyers should be aware of the potential costs and risks before spending their money.

Dear Aijin,
Thank you for sharing the receipt. It actually makes the situation very clear.
Your actual international shipping cost was only:
AUD $23.05 = US $16.42 — NOT $147.
I think that is very cheap considering that you live in a small town in Western Australia, on the other side of the world from Los Angeles.
So where did the rest of your bill come from?
Actual international shipping: AUD $23.05 / US $16.42
But you added the following:
# Extra padded envelope
# Extra insurance
# Extra signature service
# Handling/customs fees
# And, incredibly, AUD $89.25 in import duties/taxes
None of these additional charges were charged by Nialaya, and we did not ask you to purchase these additional services. YOU decided to pay for these. NONE of them are neccesary.
It appears the post office charged you an extraordinary amount of additional and potentially unnecessary fees. That is something you should take up with them, not publicly blame Nialaya for.
You should also ask Australia Post why you were charged AUD $89.25 in import duties/taxes and whether that charge was actually applicable to this return shipment. There are NO custom fees for this package as it was under $800 being shipepd between Austlia and USA. So something went wrong for you. For that we are sorry. But this has nothing to do with Nialaya.
Your own receipt proves that shipping the bracelet back actually cost AUD $23.05 / approximately US $16.42 — NOT $147.
Please don’t blame Nialaya. We have done nothing wrong here AND we refunded you in full as well.
Wishing you a wonderful day.
Best, Team Nialaya

Two bracelets fell to pieces within a day, told to repair myself and I'll get a discount on the next 🤯😂.
UPDATE
It's interesting that you can tell a lot about a company and how they respond to feedback, I'm updating this review after reading there hilarious response below 😂😂😂.
I had two bracelets fall to pieces within a day, I was told to repair them myself and I'll get a discount on the next one 😂😂😂. They called that a 'gesture of goodwill'🤯. I wasn't happy and according them I'm hard to please 😂😂😂.
Can anyone imagine buying an iPhone, it failing on the first day, Apple replaces it, and that also fails, and then Apple's response is to go and repair it yourself and they'll get a discount on their next iPhone - and they call that a 'gesture of goodwill'😂. Oh, and if you're not happy about that, they accuse you of being hard to please 😂😂😂.
That's essentially what Nialaya Jewelry done for me and it's the funniest customer service ever 😂😂😂.
ORIGINAL REVIEW
I wanted to share an honest and, as far as possible, objective review of my experience with both the products and customer service.
In short, I have now had two bracelets fall apart within days of wearing them. The first was replaced, which I appreciated. However, when the replacement also failed almost immediately, the response was that I should pay to have it repaired myself, with a 30% discount on a future purchase offered as a gesture of goodwill.
That feels rather bizarre. The product failed twice, yet I am expected to spend my own time and money putting it right. Offering me a discount on another product after two faulty bracelets does not feel like going the extra mile.
My experience was as follows.
I bought a Blue Lapis bracelet, but it was faulty almost straight away. Within around five minutes of wearing it, the clasp came off and the beads went everywhere. I then had to pay a jeweller to add some beads back on and repair it.
To be fair, they did send me a replacement free of charge, which I appreciated.
Unfortunately, the replacement bracelet also fell apart within about a week. I was simply sitting at my desk when I noticed the clasp had failed again, and the beads were once more scattered everywhere.
When I raised this with the CEO, the first response was to ask whether I had been using it incorrectly, which I found odd given that it is a bracelet. I am not sure how one uses a bracelet incorrectly.
The proposed solution was then for me to have the bracelet repaired myself, at my own inconvenience and expense, while being offered 30% off a future purchase - which he considered an offer of goodwill.
Overall, I am disappointed, especially when I can buy a similar product on amazon for 20% the price of these.

Dear Mr PG.
Thank you for your kind review.
I must admit, after 17 years in business, I was surprised to read it.
For context, when your first bracelet broke, we shipped a replacement free of charge the very same day. No forms, no returns process, no arguments. We simply made a new bracelet in Los Angeles and sent it to you immediately.
Interestingly, after the replacement had already been shipped, you (SUDDENLY) informed us that the original bracelet had been repaired and asked whether you could receive a different color instead. Unfortunately, by that point our team had already handmade and shipped the replacement.
What surprised us even more was that the replacement bracelet reportedly also failed shortly thereafter. In all our years of making jewelry, seeing the same issue occur twice for the same customer is exceptionally rare. That is why I asked questions about how the bracelet was being worn—not because I was accusing you of anything, but because I was genuinely curious how lightning had apparently struck twice.
As for the comparison to a £20 Amazon bracelet, I will leave that one for readers to decide. We are a small company that handcrafts jewelry in Los Angeles using natural gemstones, and I suspect Amazon's production process may look slightly different than ours. But if it makes you proud and feel good to wear $20 Amazon Jewelry then you should "Go 4 it" :-) I would also note that throughout our correspondence we remained engaged, responsive, always frindly and continued looking for solutions. While we were clearly unable to agree on the best resolution, our intention was always to help. Judging from Your Trustpilot history, You are not the easiest to person please, but we did indeed try from our side. We hope Amazon will have better luck.
I am sorry that we were unable to reach an outcome that met your expectations. We genuinely wish you the best and thank you for having given Nialaya a try. Warm regards, Jannik Olander / Founder & Designer

In only one week one gold bracelet…
In only one week one gold bracelet broken.. bad quality.. I’ve bought two times.. more than 1.500 usd.. but in this case very bad quality in only one week.. I can send you a picture if you want
Response from Nialaya JewelryOct 20, 2025
Hi David,
Thank you for your feedback — we’re truly sorry to hear about your experience. We’ve reviewed your order from July 2025, and it looks like you purchased a silver and beaded bracelet, not a gold one, so we’re a bit unsure which piece you’re referring to. We’d love to take a look and help resolve this for you right away.
On a positive note, we hope you’re enjoying the other pieces from your order — the ring and four necklaces! If you’re happy with those, we’d truly appreciate a 5-star review for them.
Jewelry can sometimes break, especially men’s pieces since they’re often worn more actively — but no worries at all, we’re always here to help. A 1-star review really isn’t necessary, as most things can be repaired or replaced, and our customer service team is available 7 days a week to support you with anything you need.
Please email us at [email protected] and send a quick picture of the bracelet. Once we see it, we’ll make sure you’re taken care of right away like we do with every other request.
We’re committed to ensuring every customer is 100% satisfied, and we’d really appreciate the chance to make this right — we just need to understand which Gold bracelet you’re referring to?
Warm regards, The Nialaya Team

Nærmest umuligt at returnere varer
Response from Nialaya JewelryOct 2, 2025
Hej Trine
Bedste hilsner

Don’t buy Nailaya jewelries
I will send an email with proof. I just sent proof to your email, with the receipt I got from Farfetch, I sent it with your certificate of authenticity as well.
Stop coming to my email to explain the counterfeit of the product you’re selling. I don’t expect silver earrings to turn black within a month. Say whatever you want to say here and stop coming to my email.
Check your email, you sell counterfeit
Response from Nialaya JewelryJul 22, 2025
Dear Solomun,
Thank you for your… passionate message. We must admit, we’re still trying to decode it — but we appreciate the effort.
Just to clarify: All of our jewelry is handmade with certified materials, and every item sold on Farfetch is 100% authentic. Farfetch is one of the world’s most trusted fashion platforms and a valued long-time partner of ours.
As for your earrings — if they’ve darkened, that’s a natural oxidation process common with real 925 sterling silver. It’s chemistry, not conspiracy, and it can be easily cleaned. Not a big deal really 😅
We’re also a bit puzzled by your comment about us “coming into your email.” We’re not exactly in the business of inbox invasions — and we don't know Your email. You left a 1-star review here on Trustpilot, and we’re simply replying publicly to offer help. That’s usually how this works. 😉
If you genuinely need assistance, we’re happy to help — ideally with a bit more clarity and punctuation next time.
Wishing you all the best (and perhaps a proper silver polishing cloth for that very real 925 silver you purchased — from the very real Farfetch).
— Warm regards, Your friends at Nialaya 😊

From $576 Worth of Jewelry to a Full-On Nightmare: Nialaya’s Quality and Customer Service Are a Complete Disaster
purchased four pieces of jewelry from Nyalaya, hoping for long-lasting, high-quality accessories that I could wear on special occasions. Unfortunately, I’ve been disappointed with the durability of most of them, especially considering I spent $375 in total.
The first item I bought was the Simplicity bracelet. Despite wearing it fewer than 20 times — and always removing it before washing my hands, storing it in its original pouch, and placing it in a jewelry box — it has already started to tarnish. That was concerning, but things got worse with the Gentleman bracelet. I’ve worn it fewer than 10 times, only for formal meetings, and it's already scratched and has noticeable color fading. Again, I stored it carefully like the Simplicity bracelet.
The beaded bracelet is the only piece that has held up well, which I appreciate. It’s gone through the same careful use and storage and still looks good.
However, the most disappointing piece is the rope chain. Not only has it tarnished, but in several places, the plating has worn off completely — revealing the alloy underneath. This happened despite me wearing it only occasionally and storing it just like the others.
I took care of every piece properly and expected much better longevity for the price. At this price point, quality and durability should be a given — not a gamble. I genuinely love the style and aesthetic Nyalaya offers, but I can’t overlook how quickly three of the four pieces degraded with minimal use.
I’m sharing this with the hope that Nyalaya will take this feedback seriously and work on improving their quality. I’m not just disappointed — I feel let down after putting trust (and a substantial amount of money) into a brand I wanted to support. The items were brought from Miinto, and Boozt.
Update: After leaving my initial review, I reached out directly to Nialaya to discuss the issues I’ve experienced with several of their pieces of jewelry.
I highlighted the wear and fading of the plating on bracelets and a necklace, which I had worn for a short period of time under conditions that should not have caused this. In their response, I was informed that wear on gold-plated jewelry is a natural process, particularly on moving parts, and that this can happen regardless of price or quality.
Nialaya did not offer any form of solution or compensation, nor did they suggest professional refinishing or anything else, as they believe that wear on their jewelry is inevitable.
I had direct communication with the CEO of Nialaya, and despite explaining my concerns, they did not offer any resolution that would address my issues or meet my expectations, i told them I was open to their solutions, but wasn’t given any, instead in their final response they indicated that they couldn’t find a solution that would be fair for both parties, and they ended the communication without offering any further assistance, even though they didn’t try to offer me a solution.
It’s clear to me that Nialaya doesn’t stand behind their products when issues arise, and based on my experience, I would not recommend shopping here. Save your time and money – there are better brands that actually care about customer satisfaction and product quality.
TLDR:
I had the pleasure of speaking directly with the CEO, and to be honest, I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect example of how NOT to handle a customer complaint. Instead of listening, empathizing, or offering any kind of solution, I was met with excuses, condescension, and a total refusal to acknowledge that their products might just be a bit subpar. Apparently, it’s normal for gold-plated jewelry to lose its shine and fade that quickly. Sure, if you're selling overpriced trinkets and expect your customers to just deal with it.
So here’s a little tip for anyone thinking about buying from Nialaya: Don’t. There are way better brands out there who actually care about their customers and stand behind their products. If you want to pay premium prices for jewelry that looks good for a week, go ahead. But don’t expect any support if things go south.
I’ve already done the legwork for you. Don’t waste your time and money.
-
I wore your jewelry less than 20 times each, and I’m still disappointed with the lack of solution offered. Just to clarify, it was Boozt, not you, that refunded me for one of the pieces. I still have two tarnished bracelets, and based on your response, it’s clear this is just dropshipped jewelry dressed up as something special.
I’m glad others can now see how you handle these issues, so they’ll know exactly what they’re getting into. Frankly, this has been the most unserious interaction I’ve ever had with a brand. It’s hard to understand why you question my dissatisfaction when the only function my jewelry now serves is as a paperweight. 😶
Response from Nialaya JewelryAug 9, 2025
Dear Elias,
Thank you for your very detailed take on plated jewelry — it’s impressive how much effort you’ve put into documenting something that’s actually common knowledge for anyone familiar with jewelry.
I think it’s important to highlight that we proudly serve thousands of happy customers in over 150 countries and never receive complaints about our extra-thick, extra-strong plating. I’m sorry to say we simply couldn’t meet your expectations.
You wanted to keep the jewelry, get your money back, and leave a one-star review — unfortunately, even we don’t have that kind of magic trick.
You were already refunded for one piece, and you have expressed 100% satisfaction with another. So, effectively, you have two pieces of jewelry you’ve worn for months, which now show a few scratches — something that can happen regardless of how carefully jewelry is stored. Jewelry is made to be worn, and wear naturally results from that.
While we always strive to assist our customers, there’s only so much we can do when fundamental expectations don’t align with reality. Given the length of your review, it’s quite clear that you are not easily pleased.
Best regards, Team Nialaya

Damaged necklace
Necklace is damaged, no response from customer service regarding my complaint.
Furthermore I have to pay an additional 73 dollar to send the necklace back and make a new purchase (same model).
Response from Nialaya JewelryDec 9, 2024
Dear Christina,
We’re sorry to hear about your experience. However, after thoroughly checking our customer service records and order history over the past 12 years, we couldn’t find any inquiries or orders under your name. Could you confirm if the necklace in question is from Nialaya? Our necklaces are known for durability; shipping within the U.S. is typically less than $10.
We’d love to assist you further—could you provide us with additional details, such as an order confirmation or receipt? Our goal is 100% customer satisfaction, and we’re proud to have hundreds of 5-star reviews as a testament to our commitment.
Looking forward to helping you resolve this matter!
Best regards,
