As a mortgage broker, I recently worked with this lender to obtain a HELOC on a challenging file involving unique income and a 3-unit investment property, definitely not your nice, neat, fits-in-a-box kind of loan! Other lenders I checked with using similar online platforms wouldn’t even consider the file because of the property type and/or unique income. This lender did. They listened, worked alongside us, and were willing to look beyond the automated system to find a solution. Once the income was approved, things moved FAST and we funded the very next day! Everything was handled electronically, communication was great, and most importantly, we accomplished our client’s goal. The client was shocked and thrilled! There was a bit of a learning curve for me in the beginning, but once I understood the process, it all clicked. Technology is great, but having real people willing to think outside the box? Even better. I would definitely use them again. And considering how fast this file funded, I can only imagine an “in-the-box” borrower might close in the blink of an eye!
