It never ceases to amaze me how stupid people are. The Newton group claims to have 15 years of experience and 5 star reviews. Why? We resigned our timeshare properties nearly 15 years ago when we claimed bankruptcy. Seems pretty simple, huh? Well, no, actually! The Newton Group does not do their homework before they harass people constantly! Fifteen years!! All they need to do is look at the public records that gave them our name to begin with, but that would be logical. We have been bothered by the Newton Group by mail and phone for nearly 15 years!! They don’t stop!!
Hopefully, should you legitimately want out of your timeshare, you will go with a more responsible group.

I didn't even get past the call center
I didn't even get past the call center. A very nice man took a bunch of info then told me that I have to sit through a short presentation after which the representative would call me back and see how they could personalize help for me. That was exactly how the timeshare company sold it to me in the first place. I just can't do that again.

Not as transparent as they seemed
I was had to use NGT when I traded my timeshare equity for a vacation platform. NGT seemed transparent and willing to help. The two options they presented were clear. However, they never disclosed all the information to make an informed decision. Once I made my decision, I found I had to pay almost $2000 upfront to another company to list my timeshare on their service. I certainly would not have made the same decision had I been given all the information.

I have been waiting for over 2yrs for…
I have been waiting for over 2yrs for resolution. All I ever hear is “we are working on it”. These companies are just as bad as the time share companies. It is nothing more than legal robbery!

They took my money July 2018
They took my money July 2018. Still stuck in my timeshare, still getting bills. Their follow-up after the first few months is basically non-existent. Pls know that YOU have to do all the work and follow-up. They don't back you or get involved when things bog down. They pawn you off to another group and then you are on your own and they are on to their next sale. There sales pitch and initial process all sounds good and then....everything stops. I highly recommend that you go a different route than Newton.

In December 2018 we contracted with…
In December 2018 we contracted with Newton Group to return our timeshare to Hilton and pay Hilton to take it back. They have delayed now for a year, and I have another bill for 2020 due January1, 2019. They call monthly with an update, two times telling us they lost the power of attorney. We told them we had a return receipt from the Post Office and suddenly they found the power of attorney. They tell us it is in the hands of Hilton, but why did they take a year to get it to Hilton? This results in me having to pay an additional year of fees on the timeshare. The cost to get rid of this timeshare is now nearing cost of the timeshare. My wife and I are 72 and 74 and unable to take vacations. We have lost our points for the past two years. The company claims a BBB of A+. Hah! I will need to bring a lawsuit against Hilton and Newton Group.

Mr. Melton. By now, I am sure you are aware that your timeshare exit is complete. We had advised you prior that you did not have to pay any future maintenance fees since you were in the final processing stage. We spoke with your wife again today to confirm that your exit has been completed. We also confirmed with her that you do not have to pay any additional maintenance fees (or any other fees to us or the resort) since you are no longer a timeshare owner. The deed was recorded out of your name on 12/4/19 and your resort does require 10-14 days to complete the processing on their end. You had signed your closing documents in July of 2019, and sadly there was a mail mishap by UPS which required resigning of documents. That was totally outside of our control. Our team maintains detailed call records so we have all of the documentation of keeping you up to date at every point in the process. Most of our customers are truly grateful to be out of their timeshare in under a year and we trust you are as well. Congrats on being timeshare free and we wish you and your wife Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year!

Took my fees; Did not do as promised; Ignored every letter
I cannot recommend Newton Group Transfers. After engaging the Newton Group in November, 2015, I received notification from them December, 2017, that "...your timeshare ownership [at xxx] has been cancelled..” Since then I have repeatedly requested the documentation proving the assertion. I have not received a single response.
Now, due to lack of this documentation, my account has been turned over to collections. And the Newton Group has still not responded to a single letter begging for relief.
My request has been clear. I need the letter the time share requires to stop billing me and accruing interest against my account: “…In order to insure your contract is 100% canceled you need a letter signed by the board of directors. If you have said letter please forward it.”
The Norton Group has ignored all of my communications (beyond answering the phone and acknowledging emails), including letters, innumerable emails and telephone conversations. Customer Service has been completely ineffective.
Rough Timeline follows. I have copies of every letter and notes from every conversation.
Nov 15, 2015: I engaged the Newton Group to eliminate my obligation and paid them in full.
Dec 22, 2017 (over 2 years later): I received letter, headed “Confirmation of Timeshare Transfer” stating “… you are no longer the owner of the timeshare at xxxxx…” and stating "... your timeshare ownership [at xxxx] has been cancelled..”
Jan 7, 2018: I acknowledged receipt of the Confirmation of Timeshare Transfer and requested copies of communications and acknowledgements from the timeshare company for my records. I received no response from the Newton Group.
Jan 28, 2018 - I received a bill (the first of many, all of which I forwarded) from the timeshare for maintenance fees. I forwarded by mail; no response. I called and the Newton Group response: “Just ignore these bills.” I stated this was an unacceptable response and requested documentation proving the transfer of ownership as well as communication from the agent's superior (to no avail).
July 28, 2018 - I informed Newton Group that I had been notified my account was to be turned over to collections. Newton Group response: “Just ignore this.” I stated this was an unacceptable response and requested documentation proving the transfer of ownership as well as communication from the agent's superior (to no avail).
I cannot recommend Newton Group Transfers and see no way to avoid taking legal action.
What can be done?
