Serious Concerns About Communication and Prescription Review
I enrolled in NewSelf's annual prescription treatment program with the understanding that my treatment would be monitored by a licensed physician and that prescriptions would be adjusted based on my progress. Recently, my next 3-month prescription was approved and shipped. However, instead of progressing to the next dosage level outlined in my treatment plan, the prescription appeared to restart at the same dosage used during my first month. Before the medication shipped, I made multiple attempts over two days to contact the prescribing physician to determine whether this was intentional or a mistake. Unfortunately, I received no response. What concerns me most is that the medication was approved and shipped without any explanation or meaningful medical guidance. For a program that advertises ongoing physician oversight, I expected the ability to discuss treatment decisions before prescriptions were issued. Once a prescription is approved and sent to the pharmacy, NewSelf's policy makes it non-cancelable and non-refundable. While I understand there may be regulatory restrictions surrounding dispensed medication, I believe patients should still have access to timely communication from their healthcare provider regarding significant treatment decisions. Because of the lack of response, transparency, and confidence in the prescription review process, I no longer feel comfortable continuing the program. I have requested cancellation of the remaining six months of my subscription, a prorated refund for the unused portion of the program, and documentation explaining the dosage decision. If you're considering NewSelf, be aware that obtaining answers from a prescribing physician may be difficult when questions arise about your treatment. My experience left me feeling unsupported and uncertain about the level of medical oversight being provided. Bottom line: If ongoing physician access and clear communication are important to you, carefully evaluate whether this program meets your expectations before committing to a long-term subscription.
