Apparently I used credits when REDUCING image sizes for my sites on Netlify meaning LESS data on their servers and now they want me to pay in order to reopen access to my sites - including a current exam project! That is extortion. I wish I had read all these bad reviews of Netlify with similar experiences before using them. Will find alternatives ASAP. And after they force you to pay: "Once you upgrade to a credit plan, you will not be able to switch back." — The recipy for losing users.

Their new credit-based pricing is a scam, leaving the free plan practically useless.

The horrible user experience of Netlify practically begged me to write a review. Their Claude AI agent sucked all of my usage credits in one prompt...ONE PROMPT! And didn't even generate the changes before disabling my site for one month with no warning and no means to retrieve my work. This site is completely useless! I went ahead and deleted my account after that, and wouldn't recommend Netlify to anyone.

I’ve had a frustrating experience with netlify.com⁠, especially regarding their credit system. Credits are consumed extremely quickly — even on paid plans. Deployment-related usage would be understandable, but traffic usage burns through credits surprisingly fast, even with relatively low visitor numbers. The biggest issue is what happens once the credits are exhausted: the entire website/project gets locked. Instead of showing the actual site, visitors see a black screen with billing-related information. For clients or end users of the project, this looks highly unprofessional and immediately damages trust. A usage-based model itself is not the problem. The real issue is that the pricing becomes very unpredictable and expensive compared to competitors. There are other hosting providers with far more transparent, calculable, and affordable pricing structures. Netlify has a good developer experience overall, but the current billing/credit model makes it difficult to recommend for serious client-facing projects.

Horrible, once I ran out of credits (which were burned through ridiculously quickly for simple AI prompts), I couldn't view MY OWN design until I paid them more. Just to view a draft of my own design. Garbage and predatory.

This service is really garbage.. i tried their AI agents edits and it fast drained my free account credits and my site got suspended.. i was forced to switch to paid account, then continued the edits.. and it gone fast.. bought new credits twice one of them i was debited but the credits didn't show in my account.. and suddenly my account and more than that my website was taken down again... this is to many frustration that makes me migrate to vercel and just take the time to write this down here.
