Horrible bank; never use it. Frequently their website doesn't work so you can't login to do anything. They will shut down your account and take your money with little to no warning. They will ask security questions you can't answer (Where was my honeymoon when I've never been married) and give you NO other way to access your account. I could go on and on -- they've been nothing but trouble from the beginning, up to and including financial loss from their unreasonable policies.

I am from Buffalo, NY, but I'm currently living in Australia. I am writing to express my disappointment about the transition from Evans Bank to NBT Bank. I had anticipated an upgraded, modern online banking experience, but the current platform is severely lacking. Online transactions remain pending far longer than they ever did under Evans Bank. Additionally, my recent interaction with your customer support team was entirely unacceptable; the representative was condescending and spoke down to me throughout the call. I expect a much higher standard of both digital reliability and customer care. Time to find a new bank!

ok OK, had this bank over ten years. They bought my bank before it was NBT. Worst locations for branches ever. In the entire Poconos, they have a location five miles from the population center of Stroudsburg, because it is at the exit for three major area arteries... route 80, route 611, and route 33. I told them why would interstate travelers want your bank? Why put a location at four lane highways and NOT in the middle of the town/ city that it serves? No good answer. Fees are very high. Ordering checks? How about a dollar per check for twenty checks? Yeah. And about once every year or two somehow my numbers get out and they have to freeze the account and issue new cards. their nearest branch is 15 miles from my house. My new bank is in Walmart. How convenient. Yes, switched banks. Ditched NBT.

I have a solar loan with this company and tried to change my automatic payment account online twice and it did not change so I called and they had me submit the online payment form again. They said they could not change it only through the form online. Well what if that's not working??? Horrible customer service.

App is garbage, and they CONSISTENTLY have problems that effect MY money. Id rather stuff my mattress full then trust them with anything. And this isnt against my local branch, this is the company as a whole.

Quick to take your money in every which way they can. Customer for 25 years and its been one headache after another. After a series of HORRENDOUS customer service experiences and refusal to accept a CashApp transfer, I left and joined my local Federal Credit Union. Should have done it sooner.

I do not enjoy this change in banks. NBT took over Evans bank. I was thinking maybe new modern experience. I am very disappointed. Online banking and things just sit in pending for so long. Not modern at all. My little Evans bank banked quicker than this.

I've held accounts with NBT Bank and its predecessors for five decades. While I've had excellent service with them on the domestic side, it has been 180 degrees opposite on anything international. Despite notifying the bank in advance, both online and in person, of upcoming foreign travel, the bank has consistently frozen my accounts once I was traveling abroad, rendering both my debit card and access to my accounts unusable. This has occurred several times. I lodged a formal complaint with a regional NBT president, who took my complaint seriously and subsequently informed me that NBT had reformed its system. Well, I went through the same motions for my latest foreign trip and guess what? Locked out of my accounts, requiring a 45-minute phone call from overseas to reverse it. Having zero trust in NBT's competence in this area, I now use another bank that caters to military personnel and retirees whenever I travel outside the country. I also use this bank when wiring money abroad due to NBT's excessive fees and slow processing. Bottom line: if you never leave the country and engage solely in domestic financial transactions, NBT is fine. If not, take your business elsewhere.
