Super plus tampons are not very absorbent. I leak more than they absorb. I go threw 8-10 a day mid period. The pull away paper on the back of the pad were not aligned well and as i pulled the papers off the sticky tape it tore the hole in the back of the pads. Had to toss them and try the next one with same result. Not going to order anymore. Disappointed I was looking forward to switching to cotton. :( not worth the mess or hassle.

Not good for heavy flow
I used the super plus tampon for the first time today. I decided to wear a liner just in case I had a few spots of leakage and to see how effective the tampon is. I work in light green scrubs at work and about 4 hours into work I felt as though I had leaked everywherre I was so scared. I felt the release of my period which I never normally feel when wearing tampons. When I went to the bathroom my liner was soaked in blood and the tamoon was soaked all the way into the string.
I have endometriosis so I have a heavier flow my first few days but nothing a Tampax tampon could not handle. I wanted to switch over to an organic tampon for obvious hygienic reasons but this tampon disappointed. I also had a rough time with the pads folding over and wrinkling up on my underwear. I felt often times that I had a wedgie and was uncomfortable wearing them. I do not think this company is conducive to women who truly suffer from heavy flows but I do believe the mission of this company is amazing. I wish it had worked for me.

I used this product for 4 months …
I used this product for 4 months thinking there was something wrong with my period (I had just gotten my period again after 2 years from baby/nursing)! I feel slightly relieved to see that others had the same experience and also surprised of all the 5 star reviews! There marketing is superb for sure, the packaging absolutely adorable, and the customer service woman was lovely but, I mean.... the product is garbage. I was roped in through an ad on FB which I'm assuming happened most of us health conscious ladies!
LOLA tampons do not absorb. It was as though my period snuck around the tampon and had constant leaks! After 3 months of my weekly period I have in a bought store brand tampons... and what do you know!?!? No leaks!
So the pads..... they are subpar at best. They do not keep their shape and the adhesive, especially the wings got stuck on my panties 😭.
So, if you're using this product and you're experience is opposite of mine I am curious why that would be? The customer service rep told me she wanted to let her supplier know about the review... she wouldn't tell me who it was but she "ensured" me they are FDA approved.
I guess my lesson I learned is not to buy in to those attractive FB ads so quickly!
Also, LOLA... when your tampons start absorbing and your pads can hold it together let me know.

Product good but customer service and …
Product good but customer service and shipping is not
Product good. Shipments...not so much. On many occasions I've received the product a week or so late. I thought the point of this (other than 100% cotton) is that products arrive on time. Kind of a big deal.
So, in July I received a notice from customer service that my payment didn't go through. Customer Service said I needed to update my card then my order would be processed. I updated the expiration date and my order was still not processed.I hoped LOLA would send my order after my I updated my card. NOPE. It's August now and apparently I was supposed to tell the CSR to manually process my order. Would've been nice for the CSR (the same woman btw) to tell me that back in July.
It's mid August and I won't get my shipment until end of month.
Update: Found another 100% cotton product that I've used for a few days. 1/2 the cost with Free 2 day shipping. I've cancelled my subscription to Lola :)

Amazing marketing. Horrible product.
I was excited to try LOLA; loved their approach to the market, beautifully minimalistic packaging and a noble cause. Unfortunately I had an awful experience using the product (the tampons in super to be specific). They didn't only have little absorbency but seemed to repel blood entirely. Constant leaks. I have never had to change a tampon so many times. Sheets ruined. Dresses ruined. Zero odor control. An overall extremely embarrassing situation.
What's interesting to me is that most of the reviews for LOLA seem scripted and repeat similar marketing lines. Their review page on Facebook is hidden (they're pushing the Facebook ads HARD). Everything seems pretty suspicious to me.
What I've learned from this experience is: NAH - cotton alone cannot do all the magical things people with periods need, hence why the market has evolved to improve absorbency, & odor and leak control. I would love to see more transparency and less obnoxious packaging for period products (and for that I applaud LOLA) but unfortunately I paid double the price of a normal tampon for a marketing ploy - I now have to scrub stains out of my new dresses :(

Long Wait
Why is it taking so long to get my shipment? I just tracked my package and the estimated arrival time will be over two weeks from the time I ordered it. It was shipped one day after I made my purchase. This seems like a long time to wait. I'll just go with the organic tampons at the grocery store from now on.

I love the idea of organic tampons and …
I love the idea of organic tampons and a subscription, no less. However, these are some of the WORST tampons I ever have used. The applicator pinched, the tampon was NOT comfortable--at all--and they leaked!! Plus, they unravel when you try to remove them! YIKES! Ladies, STAY AWAY from these.

Tampons themselves are great, applicators are worthless
This review is for the tampons with applicators specifically. I tried the panty liners as well and have no real negatives regarding them, but the tampon experience was so unbelievably bad it prompted this review. The tampons themselves are fine, I know some other reviewers had absorbancy issues but I found them to be on par with store brands. I normally use Tampax Pearl and I have a light to medium flow so I never need anything more than a regular. I got two supers in my Lola subscription just in case but the one I tried on my heaviest day was definitely overkill. Maybe if you have a heavy flow their supers aren't as absorbent as other supers, I really couldn't say, but the regular and light tampons are more or less equivalent to Tampax Pearl from what I saw.
That being said, the problem is the applicators. They are complete and utter garbage to the point that they are unusable. The plunger that you slide into the casing to push the tampon out is too short to actually get the tampon out of the plastic shell. It pushes it out maybe half an inch when fully pushed in so when you pull the applicator back out the tampon comes with it, still just barely poking out of the shell. I tried multiple light, regular, and super tampons with the exact same result every single time.
(Prepare for more graphic detail here, if you're considering this product I think it's good to know exactly what you're getting yourself into.) At this point, you now have a bloodied tampon still wedged most of the way in its applicator and have to try and get it out. I tried re-inserting and squeezing the applicator like a tube of toothpaste which will get the tampon out with some effort but at that point it wasn't in far enough to be comfortable so I still had to manually push it further in. After the fourth attempt of using the applicator with a tampon I gave up and would try it once using the plunger (which did not work once in at least 12 attempts over the course of a period) then just pulled them out of the applicator and inserted them by hand which is a horrifyingly disgusting process to me. I work in an office where we have public restrooms with toilet stalls. I cannot effectively describe the indignity of having to wait until the bathroom is empty to exit the stall so I can wash blood off my fingers from having to do this.
Needless to say, after one day of that these tampons were used at home only to still attempt to give them a fair try before dismissing them as garbage. I thought surely, I just had back luck with a few of these, there's absolutely no way any self-respecting human being would put a product this terrible on the market and then have the nerve to say they were made by women, for women. 3/4 of a box later, I find I was mistaken. I assume no one working at Lola actually tried these applicator tampons before putting them on the market, because even the world's laziest QA department would have caught this issue on the first use.
I was so excited about this product when I read about it. They have a great idea to get away from the chemicals and non-natural ingredients that comprise most other brands, plus being able to customize your boxes and have them shipped directly to your door is incredibly convenient. The issue is just in the quality of the product, I cannot fathom how such a massive flaw was overlooked and frankly it's completely unacceptable to sell them as applicator tampons when the applicator is unusable. I genuinely hope they address this issue, if they fix the problem I'd be happy to try another box and review it again. I really do think it's a great idea and I'd love to use it, I'm just not willing to use tampons without applicators and I'm pretty sure there's a large number of women who agree with that.
