I’m writing this as someone who actually went through the licensing process and passed both exams: Business & Finance and Roofing Trade Knowledge. Contractor Estimating Institute (CEI) played a major part in that. From the beginning, the experience felt different from other companies I looked into. Before purchasing, I wanted to see what the course platform actually looked like because this is not a small investment. Their sales rep had no issue sending me a screenshot right away, while other companies would not show me anything. That gave me a lot more confidence before spending the money. The course itself was well organized and easy to follow. It had separate sections for each book, broken down by chapters, which made it much easier to study and go back to specific areas when needed. The material did not feel outdated or thrown together. It felt current, relevant, and built for the actual exam. The book highlighting was also very helpful. Some people may think there is a lot of highlighting, but for this type of exam, that is exactly what you want. You do not know which questions you are going to get, and time matters. Being able to quickly find the right section in the book can make a huge difference. The practice exams were the biggest help for me. After answering a question, the system gives you the correct answer and shows where to find it, including the book, chapter, page, and sometimes the math breakdown or index reference. That was extremely important because it did not just help me memorize answers. It helped me learn how to locate information quickly, which is exactly what you need during the real exam. I also want to mention Theresa McCutcheon. She was professional, kind, and very helpful any time I reached out. Her responses were quick and thoughtful, and it honestly made the process feel a lot less stressful. When you are trying to better yourself and move forward in life, having someone actually care and help you through the process matters. My books arrived in great condition, the course was strong, and the support was excellent. Looking back, choosing Contractor Estimating Institute (CEI) was one of the best decisions I made during this entire licensing journey. If you are serious about passing, I would absolutely recommend them.
