Had this supplemental accident…
Had this supplemental accident insurance through work, which was claimed to be the same as Aflac. Had an accident at work and filed a claim with MOO. Was called and advised that they will not cover a work related injury, guess it’s the same thing any reason insurance doesn’t have to pay, but happy to take your money!!!!!!

If it was possible to leave negative stars…
If it was possible to level negative stars or no stars I would. I am very upset/angry with this company and how it is run. I have been off work since the 1st of the year (having surgery on the 2nd of January). I was under the impression from my job that everything was set up and ready to go. I called my job on January 27th because my check was so short. I asked my HR lady why and I had Short term, she informed me I needed to contact Mutual of Omaha, The lady who took on my case informed me they had my surgery date as January 26th, I said no it was on the 2nd. She informed me she would send me a check with all the missed pay on it. (That was the last I have heard from her) she has not returned my phone calls, I still have not received any of my checks yet. It has been over 2 months and I haven’t heard back from them.

This isn’t the level of service we aim to provide, and we’d like the opportunity to look into what happened with your claim and communication.
Please email your full name and contact information to [email protected], and on of our customer care associates will be in touch to review the situation.

I encountered the rudest agent ever
I encountered the rudest agent ever. The agent kept cutting us off when asking questions about the policies, she tried answering our questions with things that were yes and no answers. It was the mist frustrating experience with trying to obtain 3 universal life plans for our family. After an hour if her rudeness, I told her if she cut me off one more time I was going to hang up! She got all our personal information. Bank info, ss#'s and then had the audacity to hang up! I'm glad she did because now, I know I was getting ready to do business with the wrong company. She did me the favor after reviewing all these complaints

If I could give them no stars
If I could give them no stars, I would. I had a slip and fall, and I’m off work and was given short-term disability with a possible settlement coming up they refuse to give me any more of my short-term disability once they found out about it. What am I paying for there may or may not be a settlement it’s only a possibility yet they decided to stop a little bit of money that they were giving me. My representative was.Leilani who was one of the worst at her job she lied and was told by an attorney she’s lying now I’m only allowed to contact them through email. Nobody, including their managers will speak to me. This company is a joke and I would look for other places if I was you. .

Mutual of Omaha is a bad choice for dental insurance
I have dental insurance with this company and have several complaints about how they conduct their dental insurance business:
1) I dislike how they require appeals to be submitted in the mail versus accepting appeals via fax or email. This takes a lot longer to process appeals.
2) I disagree with how they require a security code to login to online accounts, if 8 hours has passed since your last login.
3) For the date of service on January 13, 2026 at a network dentist, which date was in my second year of coverage, they applied a 20% coinsurance reimbursement, instead of the correct 50% coinsurance reimbursement on a Level III service - Periondal Maintenance.
4) For the same date of service of January 13th in item #3, they did not approve the costs for some x-rays, even though these are 100% reimbursed as Preventive Services.
5) For the date of service of February 2, 2026 at a different network dental provider University of Michigan Dental School (UMDS) they failed again to approve an x-ray for a problem area, that was done to prepare me for a root canal. They claimed that the x-ray wasn't covered because of some limitation mentioned in my contract, but I did not see any legitimate limitation that gave them permission to deny this cost. Fortunately, I filed an appeal with them, but they denied my appeal at both Level 1 and Level 2. Therefore, I filed an appeal with the MI Department of Financial and Insurance Services, and was able to get the MOO denial reversed.
6) Mutual of Omaha gives very bad email customer service, such as not answering specific questions and not putting a person's name on the Closing of their messages. They just say things like "Thank You" or "Regards" but don't add any name. That is cowardice, in my opinion. That is an example of not taking responsibility for things they say to customers.
I don't recommend anyone choose Mutual of Omaha for dental insurance, unless you want to get ripped off.

I was treated very poorly when I did not give them my banking information!!!
I was treated very poorly when I did not want to give them my banking information. At one point, I was insulted by a supervisor when he said that how was it possible for me to eat if I don't have a debit card. He also said that I'm an old men for not wanting to give them my banking information. After insulting me and treating me like dirt, they hung up the phone on me. I will never deal with them again!! I strongly urge anyone who's thinking of doing any business with them , not to. I will continue to speak out against such an arrogant and disrespectful company!

Hello, and thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are truly sorry to hear about the way you were treated — this is not acceptable and does not reflect the standards of respect, professionalism, or customer care that we expect from any member of our team.
Your concerns about being asked for banking information are completely understandable. While certain details are sometimes required to set up or service a policy, you should never feel pressured, disrespected, or spoken to in an inappropriate manner.
We take this matter very seriously. We would appreciate the opportunity to investigate what happened and address it. Please [email protected] with your name and the date of your call so we can look into this further.
Thank you again for bringing this to our attention.
