I do not like having to go into the store and back to pump and then back again. Options?
Response from Mudflap, Inc.Jun 13, 2025
Hi Paul, in addition to the Mudflap app, Mudflap offers a fuel card you can swipe right at the pump with no transaction fees! You can learn more about the Mudflap Fuel Card here: https://www.mudflapinc.com/fuel-card or give our card team a call at 1-888-775-8411.

I like Mudflap and truly the savings. Only thing I dislike is that Mudflap doesn’t pull the money right away. Or at least keep the pending on the account till the funds are pulled out. This way my balance has all fuel purchases are subtracted out.

Hi there, we really appreciate you sharing your experience—and we’re so glad to hear you’re enjoying the savings! It sounds like you might be referring to the standard authorization hold that occurs when using a credit or debit card in the Mudflap app. This temporary hold helps confirm that funds are available, and any unused amount is released right after fueling or canceling your code. Depending on your bank, it may take a few business days for the update to show in your account. If you'd prefer to avoid holds altogether, switching to a bank account as your payment method can help. Our support team will be reaching out soon to learn more and help you find the best solution.

Rather than provide a price that is great, then to add 1.9% after the fact because we use a credit card just add that percent to the price. It seems every transaction requires a CC so Mudflap is not being transparent with the actual cost of utilizing.
Response from Mudflap, Inc.Jun 13, 2025
Hi Dave, thanks for sharing your feedback. Mudflap is free to use with a debit card or bank account, which allows drivers to avoid the 1.9% credit card processing fee. We aim to be transparent—this fee is disclosed during the card setup process. Since there’s no fee for bank or debit payments, it isn’t built into the posted discounts. If you have any questions or concerns, we’d be happy to help. You can reach us at 1-888-885-3835 or [email protected].

I stopped using mudflap when they increased their fees that out way the discounts. Over a year ago…
Response from Mudflap, Inc.Jun 16, 2025
Hi Gary, thanks for sharing your feedback. Credit card payments come with higher processing costs, and the 1.9% fee helps offset a portion of those expenses. This allows us to continue offering credit cards as a payment option for drivers who prefer them. Mudflap still covers most of the processing cost to keep the fee as low as possible. If you'd rather avoid it altogether, you can switch to a debit card or bank account in the app, or call us at 1-888-885-3835 and we’ll be happy to help.

I do not like that I have to pay more using a credit card. My increase in payment is 1.9%. That makes diesel cheaper at Walmart. Plus I went to California recently and your ap had a Pilot listed. I went there. When I presented my number to fill up. They looked at me like I had 4 heads. Yall do some things very good. And some things very very bad. Plus the stations or the truck stops the further west you get really don’t care what kind of service they provide. This is the people working at the counters. It’s like you are inconvenient to them!!
Response from Mudflap, Inc.Jun 16, 2025
Hi Eno, thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. To avoid the 1.9% credit card processing fee, we recommend switching to a bank account or debit card as your payment method—Mudflap is free to use with either option. We’re sorry to hear about the experience you had in California. Our Customer Support team will be reaching out shortly to get more details about the stop so we can follow up and prevent this kind of confusion in the future. We really appreciate you bringing this to our attention and helping us improve.

I enjoy the discounts across the country when available. Mavericks are the easiest to use, right at the pump. It's a little inconvenient having to go into the cashier. And a couple of times I've been told they no longer honor Mudflap. I was unable to sign up for the Mudflap card because I don't have a tax ID number. Bummer.😞

Hi Roger, we appreciate the feedback. We're working on getting more stops set up to accept Mudflap fuel codes right at the pump—stay tuned! Our team is available 24/7 at 1-888-885-3835 if there's anything else we can help with.

When I first started with mudflap, I was extremely excited. As an owner operator, my biggest expense by far is fuel. Currently, although I’m still excited about using mudflap (and I use it almost exclusively), the condition of the pumps at many stations are subpar. They work very slowly, if at all in many places. Also, the introduction of the credit card fee takes away from the value.
