We have done two trips with MT Sobek (Hikers’ Patagonia and Japan) and have been very pleased with both. Small groups, top-notch guides, good choice of hotel and food, it’s all good.

My wife and I had booked a private hiking trip in Peru. When we landed our guide indicated that there would be another party joining us. We said no way. But it put an unnecessarily bad feeling in us and between us and our guide. I left a message to your offices at the time and received No Response! Bad customer relations.

We had a tough trip as a winter storm swept in and we were treated to snow for the full 10-day duration. It was the coldest I have ever been for that long a time. Wet clothes and fresh snow on the tent almost every morning. Plus we were on the river every day and were in a region with fire restrictions. If anything went wrong an airlift evacuation was days away, if it was even possible. Our guides were very experienced, including being careful about who came on the trip. We modified the plan of the day as conditions required, defined good protocols, and worked together. Nice job! We all pulled together and made the trip a trip of a lifetime. How you deal with people in times of stress is critical when things get nasty. I trust Sobek to provide qualified people to lead the trip. You should too!

Have done numerous MTS hiking trips and thoroughly enjoyed them. Guides, accommodations a d descriptions of trips are accurate. Definitely look forward to our next MTS trip.

Guides were excellent, especially Ben. Trip planning was suberb.

We’ve done 2 very special trips w MSonek First lodge to lodge in Peru, although we signed up through MTS, it was essentially a Peruvian adventure. The second was a kayak trip in Glacier Bay which demonstrated how really great MTS ran their operation from initial contact to the trip itself. We were old then, and older now, but it wouldn’t surprise us to be on another adventure. John and April

I did an independent trip to Papua New Guinea with MTS. It was totally unplanned, nothing was planned, their guide/leader was not knowledgeable and frankly we wasted our time. He tried to help his acquaintances at our expense MTS failed to live up to it’s obligations. Years ago I took several trips with MTS which were awesome but sadly they are not what they were

I have done several trips with MT Sobek, and all have been great. Most recent was to Tanzania and Kenya. Perfect from start to finish. Incredible guide (Joseph Ndunguru), and driver, beautiful accommodations, great food, everything perfect. Such variety. Such a feeling that MT Sobek cared about us and our experience every inch of the way. Thank you so much.
