I am in Eugene Orregon and called Mr Plumber…
I am in Eugene Orregon and called Mr Rooter only due to a discount coupon for $50 that was attatched to my New Yellow Pages phone directory. I had a pluged up kitchen sink line that I knew was a 6-7 foot stretch to the 6 inch vertical primatry sewer line out of the house. Couldn't get even an approximate estimate on the phone. Insteas I had to wait for a quote drom the Tech. He arrived and quoted me $585 to 'cable' the plugged line and pushed having me also pressure wash the interior of the pipes which would be 'significantly more' and also mention a leaking basket strainer that needed replaced for another $250! Then another probiotic line treatment to inhibit future build up. A strainer basket costs under $10 retail! I told him i just needed the line cleared and that I could change out the strainer basket myself and didn't want any of the extra products. The charge with my $50 coupon would be $535. To clear a drain line! I told him no way and that I would call an honest plumber. His response was 'Good Luck with that'. I hung up the phone and called Anderson plumbing of Eugene who came out the next day, They snaked the line, fixed the existing leaking strainer basket which was fine and only needed fresh plumbers putty (maybe 25 cents worth) and checked and replaced two plastic ring gaskets in the sink plumbing. They got it all done in 30 minutes and the final charge was under $300. No pressured up selling sales pitches whatsoever. Mr Plumber a so called 'neighborly ' company is a complete joke - yet another operation bought up by Wall Street hedge funds who buy most of the businesses in the area and double or triple their original prices to quickly transfer as much wealth to their investors as the market will stand from the pockets of the poor retail clients they rip off. Yes a very neighborly company indeed!
