Pricing is not transparent - expect rebills
Pricing is not upfront and rebills are common. Mothership does not require carriers to adhere to common service policies and the policies of their carriers are not disclosed upon booking. I booked a shipment from Southern California to Las Vegas which was quoted as 1 day, but not guaranteed. The shipment was not delivered in 1 day even though it reached the local terminal in plenty of time. It was delivered at the very tail end of the delivery window the next day and because they showed up at the receiving location at the end of the window there was some detention time. They billed me for 2 hours at $100 per hour. I asked what the alotted detention time was within my booking and they said 2 hours. I looked up the delivery detail and found that the carrier was only there for one hour and 20 minutes. I disputed the charge and they came back a second time now stating that they were there for the documented hour and 20 minutes, but the charge is $31 per 15 min of detention time. It really feels like they make it up as they go along. They also point to that is the carriers policy and stand behind the carrier even though it was apparently fraudulently billed the first time. The carrier policies are not transparent at the time of booking. A second shipment I booked with them I booked as "guaranteed" service. It was a 4 pallet shipment and they sent a full truck that only had room for one pallet again at the very end of the pickup window so we lost a day and even on that shipment I received a rebill even though the driver was only at the delivery location for 18 minutes.

Hi Maureen, Thank you for your feedback. When a shipment requires specialized handling (like deliveries to a tradeshow or event space), those specific accessorial services must be included at the time of booking. Because LTL carriers have strict detention rules regarding driver wait times, providing these details upfront is the best way to avoid unexpected fees. That said, you made a great point about how our system handles this. I have submitted a ticket to our product team to improve transparency around these carrier-specific requirements. Your feedback truly helps us improve the platform, so thank you for bringing it to our attention. I would love the chance to earn your trust back. When you are ready for your next shipment, please reach out to me directly. I will personally assist with your booking to ensure everything is perfectly configured in your dashboard.
