I've used Quicken personal financial software for Windows, going on 40 years. I mainly use it to keep an eye on banking and investments, in one view and also to allocate upcoming monthly expenses to gauge cash flow. The last several years, Quicken had added so many useless bells and whistles that it's become cumbersome and unstable. If you prefer reliability over frills, take a serious look at Moneyspire.com. I've been running Moneyspire in parallel with Quicken for over a year, and I'm about to pull the plug on Quicken -- after 40 years! Plus, Moneyspire offers an outright purchase (you own it), rather than an annual subscription like Quicken (you only own it if you keep paying).
