I bought MoneySpire because it did not require my info to be stored online. I never understood what the import function did, similar transactions for similar accounts were handled differently. Reporting functions are inflexible and inadequate. Some functions don't do anything. Handling of Investments are useless. Handling of bank, credit card transactions are OK but awkward.

I purchased this product to evaluate the full featured version as the 'trial' version did not include the bank connection download feature. Although the mechanism did work, the results were unsatisfactory as the transactions were not always inclusive of the time frame selected. I ran parallel with Quicken Deluxe and was disappointed with the results after only a couple of days. As I could not trust its accountability, I will NOT be using this software.

Like that it ties in with bank so I can balance. Hate to spend $50 every year to upgrade.

I am a former MSMoney user and switched to Moneyspire since it was reported that importing data from MS Money would be easy and well-supported. Well, the import was easy yet I cannot successfully reconcile any MSMoney transactions.

Things look good on paper. Only. Refreshing bank feeds was 'challenging'. I understand that technology isn't perfect for that, and living in Canada seemed no exception. Customer support person initially helpful, but then was abandoned. Back to Pocket Smith.

I like the basic product, but inquiries, suggestions and reported issues often go unacknowledged. I have been upgrading every year since 2020. They started at $15, but are now up to $40, and for my purposes that's too much for too little. I have read that if you don't upgrade, Moneyspire nagwares you to death. This concerns me greatly. I don't want a sales pitch every time I use this. It's the main reason I abandoned Quicken.

Moneyspire doesn't honor unsubscribe requests. I've tried probably a dozen times over the last few years, but it never works. It's not surprising though, because they ignored my support requests back when I was trying to get their product to work. (wouldn't properly download my investment transactions). The irony though, is that if they had simply honored the unsubscribe, I never would have had the opportunity to give them this bad review. :-D For the record, I attempted again to unsubscribe today - 2/17/2025

Moneyspire 2025 (paid upgrade) has a buggy interface, with inconsistent opening views. The upgrade itself works OK, but the opening views for the different sections (Accounts, Reminders, ...) don't always open correctly, requiring resizing of the sections, or restarting the application to be able to view the sections correctly.
