Appalling. Used 2 Smart phones trying to open an Ulster account. Passport accepted. Driving licence accepted. Lifeness check accepted. But IDs subsequently rejected, reason not explained. Having contacted Ulster, they know Mitek is rubbish but do nothing about it. Sorry, Ulster/RBS but I remember Fred Goodwin and his shabby approach to customer care. You haven´t moved on since his day and you have lost my custom.

Would give a minus score if I could. Absolute waste of time. Really worried that they have a lot of my data and I now want it deleted as there is no way I'm carrying on with this farce and will just take my investments elsewhere. Anyone who makes you jump through this many hoops just so you can invest your savings is just not worth bothering with. Shame for the banking companies who rely on them. I just wish there was a way to get all my data deleted. I don't trust them. Please do NOT attempt to use this company.

Looks like we better watch for this company to be on the dark web list of our Identity Theft reports. They say it takes 3 times for facial identity recognition to lock in. after my 2nd attempt, I refused to upload my doc and face again. -- Then my survey for ending the call didn't go through with an error. -- It seems out of all 1 star reviews at the time of my review July 7, 2026 and 95 prior reviews, Intuit and CreditKarma have become a part of this janky software that is useless with verifications. So I'm adding my complaint to the buch.

Absolutely awful and such a waste of time! Tried opening a natwest credit card but the ID verification tool is beyond awful and so dysfunctional. Never again, never!

Mitek is a rubbish app that couldn't make a single task like taking a passport shot as ID requested by NatWest bank. I've tried for an hour without luck. According to reviews in here and complaints all over the net this glitch is not new. Disgusting service and wasting time.

I have come across many company such as yours doing liveliness check along with ID document in less than 5 mins time. I simply do not understand why you are making the customer do the same act 3-4 times after accepting the document which defeats the whole purpose which you are trying to improve that otherwise would have taken 7 days. Just say it will take us XX mins to get a confirmation, or do everything manually. Do not say everything is OK after upload and come back with an "Oh! no there is a problem" and the saga repeating emails, that is not only frustrating it gives a bad impression for the brand you are providing this service for.

Wont let you mannually upload or choose when to take a photo of passport, drivers lisence etc. Always takes it automatically then says its too blurry, out of focus etc, even when the automatically taken image looks fine. If we had some level of control we could send photos that always match their needs but instead they choose to flood their system with garbage quality photos and we wonder why it takes 4 hours to get it reviewed. Have changed banks after this sytem was introduced. Not impressed.

Would like to give zero stars. Absolutely abysmal experience. Tried several times to open a Natwest account. Facial scan and driving licence/passport photo accepted. Then u just get an email saying: Unfortunately we couldn't open an account sorry it didn't work out. That's it! Don't bother applying if they use Mitek. Complete waste of time.
