TERRIBLE TERRIBLE Law Office to work with for a Trademark for company Nothing but Crooks Please be aware
Response from Mindmark IP LawSep 29, 2026
CLIENT’S FAILURE TO RESPOND TO USPTO REQUIREMENTS RESULTED IN APPLICATION ABANDONMENT We take client concerns seriously, but we also believe the public deserves an accurate account of what occurred. The characterization of Mindmark IP Law as “crooks” is not supported by the documented history of this matter. Mindmark IP Law prepared and filed the federal trademark application. The application subsequently received a Non-Final Office Action from the USPTO, identifying requirements that needed to be addressed for the application to proceed. Those requirements were communicated to the client. Most importantly, Mindmark IP Law did not abandon or terminate this application. A private law firm does not have the authority to declare a federal trademark application “dead.” That determination is made by the USPTO. The application was recorded as abandoned by the USPTO after the outstanding requirements were not addressed within the applicable response period. The client later requested that Mindmark IP Law withdraw as counsel, and that withdrawal request was submitted. USPTO records can take several business days to reflect administrative changes, so the firm's name remaining visible temporarily does not mean the withdrawal was not submitted. We also provided the client with the relevant USPTO correspondence and a detailed written explanation of the application's status. The documented correspondence speaks for itself. We respect the client's right to disagree with our position, but we cannot allow a public review to misrepresent the role of our firm or the actions taken by the USPTO.
