So I had an interim court order from Court of Protection that explicitly stated that the bank had to provide me with my brother's bank details so they could complete my'deputyship' application. There was a deadline for this to be filed back at court. I phoned to see if could be done without going to bank as hour and half drive for me. No I would have to go and was told everything I would need to take and that they would email particular branch to tell them I was coming and that I was to turn up as bank opened to get guaranteed sorting. Arrived at 9am having taken a personal dependents day off work as being a teacher I can't just take days off. No we can't do that, need to phone central office for advise. No we didn't get an email from central phone line. Come back later but we will phone you at 12pm to advise where things are at. No phonecall received. Returned at 12.30. Oh she's dealing with someone else now, have a seat for a short wait. I queried what a short wait would be- oh anything up to 2 hours. I stated this wasn't good enough so they then said 30-45 mins. I said I was going to get some lunch. They said they'd phone- yet again no call so returned an hour later- oh she's on her lunch break now! Come and have a seat. Sat like an idiot for 10 mins and as my blood was boiling I asked to speak to manager. Bear in mind this started at 9am and we are past 1pm now. Manager didn't deem me worthy of an immediate response- 10 mins later after her staff member had kept going over to her, she appeared. Took me to desk and said that they were told that morning that they would have to phone court of protection to verify court order. One'why?'- it's a seal embossed court order, two- why didn't they start phoning as soon as they found this out. We are now approaching 2pm on Friday afternoon. I Google court of protection which only had 2.2 stars (slightly more than this bank though) because they don't answer their phone. So 4 of us sit on phones, including the bank manager, trying to get through. Surprise surprise- no joy! At 3 pm I tell them that despite my brother being severely disabled and having not left rehab centre in 6 months except in an ambulance on two occasions to go to hospital, I would have to go and get him to verify his account. Bear in mind he can't speak except a few words and has physical disabilities including following issues. Returned at 4pm with brother in wheelchair and got things settled by 5pm. 8 hours where despite a legal court order I could not get the information required. Huge amounts of stress and had to put my brother in a very vulnerable position. I emailed the CEO of bank with full details- reply 'I don't look at my emails very often so try this person' - spelling errors in his standard reply. So I emailed who he suggested. To date no reply. They should be absolutely ashamed of themselves. It's disgusting that they failed at every point and led, promising things they just didn't carry out including emails, phonecalls sand getting information. My day started at 7.20am and I got home extremely stressed at 7pm.

Very poor fraud detection systems when dealing with the elderly in powers of attorney. NHS staff have been alerted to an increasing problem at Metro Bank PLC who have failed those who have been defrauded. I would advise any elderly person not to trust Metro Bank as they have no safeguarding.

Im Done with this Bank. I have to say what a shambles of an organisation this really is. Twice your bank have messed me around today, first off my card would not work again when getting fuel, I had people behind me, staff having to call more staff and the embarrassment of this was not something I would wish on anyone. I then call up your call centre and they said I have to go into branch to get another card, what a joke why should I have to drive into town, pay to park, take time out of my day all because your system would not work. People in front of me and behind me all cards worked, this also happened in another shop a week ago. I then login for online banking, have all the passwords etc in a book for me to follow, you send out two codes and it still does not allow me into the system. Today I have wasted so much time dealing with this i no longer have any faith in this organisation when I asked the lady to speak with a manager she said I cant find one but will have one call you in 24 hours, so I have to wait 24 hours to make a complaint, what a joke I said I want someone to call me back in 30 minutes and there is no reason why they can't, even if they called me and said the manager is on another call can they call you in an hour, fine but instead I had a debate off her, listing excuses and wasting time where she could have gone and found someone, absoloute shambles, unprofessional time wasters thats all they were.

I joined Metro Bank 3 years ago and transferred 2 current, 1 savings and a Business account to them. Initially I was very pleased, they were competent and you could always get to speak with someone if any issues arose, which was actually very few. 4 months ago I was contacted by the fraud team to tell me there was some suspicious activity on one of my accounts. This identified a number of transactions attempted that day totaling over £4000. I was told not to be concerned; they would be stopped but 4 days later all the payments went through. I again contacted the fraud department and was told the case had been referred to an 'investigations Team' due to the amount. In my view the fraud was clearly due to an internal Bank security breach as the account in question I hadn’t even used for over 3 weeks due to lockdown, and I never use my cards for internet / telephone transactions. Since that day I have spent hours / days on the phone trying to speak to whoever was dealing with the fraud. I was basically lied to, given the run-around, never called back. Eventually I went into the Branch. They were very sympathetic but equally unhelpful. I was not allowed to speak to the 'investigation team' directly but they did conveyed a message. ' the fraud is being investigated, you are in a que of other customers and It may take some weeks' However I would be contacted by them directly before the end of the week (3 days) time. Needless to say, no one contacted me, and to this day I have not been able to speak with anyone dealing with the fraud. A week after no contact I made an official complaint to Metro Bank. After 20 days the result of which was. They investigated my complaint and decided that I had insufficient grounds to even make one. They also 'tactfully' now referred to the Fraud as a 'Card Dispute'. I have absolutely no trust in Metro bank, I believe they were responsible for the Security breach with my account details, their incompetence then allowed the £4000 to be taken from my account. Following that their general attitude has been disgusting, Its outrageous that £4000 is allowed to be taken from your account and you cant even get to speak with anyone about it. Its clear to me that they have no concern what so ever for their customers.

Awful bank-rascists-central London to open account Winter ‘14- -awful customer service, asked me to wait a long time while they partying behind the scene or serving white customers, when eventually my turn they were still trying to serve a white male customer though I ahead of him in queue-he was nice though and let me go ahead, then they asked me to come in with more unnecessary information/paperwork after yet another appointment meeting-it was a long trip there on the tube and can’t handle their time waster user requests for more and more-irrelevant information-by rascists’ intentions to cause stress alsothough a new account was important for us and our business! That bank on the verge of bankruptcy-unsurprisingly know of an employee in funds Fergie May- who is a total rascist from a horrible family and a pep mother The Cockroach of Eachwick Hall

I tried to open a business account with Metro bank and was informed at branch this can only be done online . I did this waited 7 days had no response so went back to the branch. They told me there was a glitch in their system and talk my details which had wasted a week. Three days later I tecieved an email from the business manager saying it wasn’t possible to open an account. I asked to be contacted as I wasn’t happy with the response. After no contact I went back to the branch to ask why, but was told it was confidential and was probably down to a poor credit score. Checked this on Experian and my score was 999 ( maximum positive) What not deal with them again very amateurish!!

We are a small business and I have been banking with Metro Bank for years. I would advise to never go close to them. Possibly the worst bank in the UK. 1. Technology is archaic. After promising to allow the integration of Xero it took more then 12 months to get this working. Login process and account access are clearly not state of the art. Difficult to integrate anything into the bank account. 2. They advertise the fact that the are customer focused. I went into the branch or "shop" as they call it to change a signatory on the account. It took 4 hours despite us having all the necessary documentation. At one point the customer service person got up and left the desk. After sitting for 20 minutes expecting that she had just stepped out we asked someone else what was going on. They told us she just went for lunch. I have never before been treated this shabbily. 3. Topping all of this is the fact that we had raised some capital, which as all SME's will know is a very difficult task in-itself, and Metro Bank refused to process the payment. I had informed them months in advance that this payment was coming. To which I was told this is no problem. The money finally came from a private individual from a Swiss account. I was asked to deliver a lot of information from the customer including a bank statement from his Swiss account. After taking a week to go through all this they came to the conclusion that I had not supplied sufficient information on the source of funds, which is not true at all. This bank is on the verge of bankruptcy anyways and not worth the hassle and credit risk that comes with them. I recommend some of the other challenger banks such as TIDE or Revolut. These guys are the most incompetent people I have ever come across.
