Hi! Mela here from Metafy. It’s completely fair for you to feel frustrated. This was an ugly situation, and I won’t pretend otherwise. The Metafy Partner had initially decided to stop coaching altogether and refused to continue existing sessions. Because we agreed that you were in the right to expect the service you paid for, we stepped in and pushed hard to make sure he followed through and completed the remaining sessions. It took a lot of back-and-forth on our side, but we did ultimately get him to honor that commitment. I understand how the delays and uncertainty soured the experience, and I’m genuinely sorry about that. To help make this right, we’re happy to offer $100 in Metafy credits, which you can use toward sessions or other products with someone else on the platform. If you’re open to that, please reach out to us directly and we’ll get it set up for you. And you’re absolutely right about being careful with purchases. Larger commitments deserve careful consideration, and it’s important to be fully confident before moving forward.

Hi there! I'm sorry this experience was such a mess. Just to clarify, Metafy doesn’t employ coaches. They’re independent and use our platform to offer their services. Internally, we try to resolve issues as best we can, but in some cases where we can’t take direct action, we suggest filing a formal dispute. In this case, you chose not to dispute, which is totally your call, but if you had, we would’ve deducted the amount from the coach’s wallet and refunded you. That said, I agree this could’ve been handled better on our side. We want every user to feel like they’re being taken care of, and clearly, that didn’t happen here. We’ll do better. Hi Kenth - really sorry this left such a bad taste in your mouth. To clarify a few things: Metafy Partners manage their own schedules and relationships with their clients and students, but once you flagged issues, we stepped in. We added $100 in credit out of pocket, tried to get things back on track, and looked into refunding the original PayPal payment—but it was too old for us to process. We encouraged filing a dispute, and if that had worked, we would’ve covered it by deducting the balance from the Metafy Partner's wallet as part of our T&Cs. That’s standard on our end when things go sideways. You’re right to be frustrated. This isn’t the experience we want for anyone. Since then, we’ve added new limits on bulk 1:1 sessions to prevent situations like this from happening again. Metafy’s still a growing platform—and while we’re proud of how many gamers have found real value here, we’re always working on getting better. Appreciate you sharing your experience. —Team Metafy

Hey Sahil. We’ve built Metafy to connect players with other top-tier players, and while thousands have had great experiences, clearly yours didn’t go the way it should’ve—and that sucks. We're sorry about that. To clarify: these gamers on Metafy aren’t our employees. They use the platform to offer their services directly, kind of like how creators use Etsy or instructors use Skillshare. That said, we still care deeply about what happens on our platform—and when things go wrong, we want to make it right. It looks like your experience was back in April 2024, and if the partner really ghosted you after you paid, we’d absolutely want to know. Please email [email protected] so our team can look into it. As for the access in India—that was temporarily limited during a spike in spam accounts. It wasn’t personal or targeted. It was just a technical step while we figured things out.
