Most expensive trainers I have ever bought. Walked regularly through fields and dry mud trails from Spring to Autumn 2025 (UK). They have been very comfortable and supportive. These are more for dry arid climates - NOT for wet or damp days in the countryside.

Clients fidèles de la marque MERRELL depuis de nombreuses années, nous avons récemment rencontré un problème avec une paire de chaussures de randonnée de très bonne qualité et à un prix d’achat élevé, très, très peu utilisées mais dont la semelle s’est décollée sur plusieurs centimètres. La garantie étant dépassée mais facture en main, nous avons tout de même tenté une démarche auprès du magasin où nous les avions achetées, estimant qu’il s’agissait d’un défaut de fabrication évident. Les chaussures ont été renvoyées à MERRELL mais nous les avons reçues en retour sans réelle explication ni solution, uniquement avec la mention que la garantie était expirée. Déçus, nous avons décidé de contacter directement le service client de MERRELL, espérant un geste commercial. Nous avons alors obtenu un premier bon de réduction de 20 %, ce qui ne compensait pas vraiment le préjudice (puisque l'incident était arrivé en vacances, en plein rando avec difficultés pour poursuivre) et encore moins le défaut du produit. Nous avons insisté en envoyant également des photos montrant l’état impeccable des chaussures, et, cette fois, nous avons eu la chance de tomber sur une personne bien plus à l’écoute. Grâce à sa compréhension, nous avons finalement obtenu un bon de 50 % de réduction sur un nouvel achat. En conclusion, même si cette situation a nécessité plusieurs relances, nous saluons l’attention portée à notre réclamation et la solution apportée. Merci à MERRELL d’avoir su entendre notre demande. Nous restons donc clients, avec une confiance renouvelée, même si nous espérons ne plus avoir à insister autant à l’avenir ;-)

Excellent customer return facility on Merrell website, it generated a free UPS label with nearby drop-off locations listed and my refund came through within 48 hours of posting my items back via my local newsagent. Impressive speed considering returns are delivered to a warehouse in the Netherlands, so credit to UPS and Merrell for your excellent logistics. With that said, Merrell shoes appear to be drastically undersized compared to rival brands, as despite ordering a supposedly wider fitting shoe, the mens UK 11.5 seemed to be more like a size 10. Its certainly getting more difficult to find comfortable trainers in recent times, since all these brands just produce narrow-fitting squashed styles that have taken precedence over everything else.

****REFER TO UPDATE AT BOTTOM**** Bought a pair of Wrapt Waterproof Mid Barefoot hiking boots and they were great for the first 2 months. I noticed when getting ready to go on an intense hike that the bottom rubber of the shoe had started peeling away from the upper. So now the water proofing is compromised because there’s a giant hole near my toe. I’ve never had a pair of rugged hiking boots do this and I’m shocked with Merrel. I’m just shy of the 60 day guarantee so there is no helping me and the best part is… I attempted to write a review on their website but that appears to be “outside of the time frame”. So if I buy a pair of shoes or gear from the company and once the 60 days goes by and the shoes or gear begin falling apart the company protects themselves from a negative review, which is rather convenient and explains a lot of their products having 4 to 5 stars when they can’t even hold up for longer than 2 months. Also the bottom grip on one of the shoes has been almost ripped off from walking in easy trails… not sure why because the other boot is still fairly decent. Regardless a hiking boot should last at a min of 500 miles, which there isn’t even a chance I did that in the last 60 days in these since I interchange them with other boot/shoe options depending on the trail I hike/walk. ****UPDATE**** Reached out to the company and they graciously sent me a coupon code to replace my pair of boots no questions asked. I was worried after reading reviews about the companies support but after having an issue myself and reporting it to the company I am very happy with Merrells support! I loved the Wrapt boots until they separated as mentioned above. Maybe I received a one off that this issue so happened to occur to. Regardless I will try the new pair they sent me and hopefully I will have better luck since Merrell does make a great product so I’m shocked the first one didn’t hold up as expected. All in all I changed this review from a 1 star to a 4 because of how great my experience is with their customer support. Thank you, Merrell!

I bought a pair of Alverstone Mid GTX Gore-Tex boots with Merrell soles in Chile mid Dec 22. They felt very comfortable immediately and I hiked a lot of Patagonia in them. I was very pleased with them and they proved to be very waterproof. Unfortunately when in New Zealand during April 23 one of the lower leather lace loops snapped, which was very disappointing. I contacted Merrell at rather than tell me I needed to return to the retailer in Chile, they rang me back, provided me with a list of shops nearby that I could go to and replace my boots for an equivalent product. Excellent worldwide customer service.

In fairness I can see where some of the 1 star reviews come from, my trainers did start to break down after 5 months of use. However, on contacting them and showing them some pictures I was given a refund with no issues.

Chaussures de qualité, mais livraison pénible. Rien à dire sur les chaussures, mais par contre la livraion par UPS est INSUPPORTABLE. Je commande fin novembre, je reçois ma commande en janvier parce que UPS est incapable de lire une adresse visiblement, donc ils retournent mon colis vers MERRELL. Impossible de mettre à jour son adresse sur le site UPS, obligé d'appeler le service client MERRELL. Bref MERRELL s'il vous plait veuillez changer de fournisseur pour la livraison parce que c'est vraiment pas possible en 2023 d'avoir un service de livraison aussi catastrophique.
