Save your money & do not purchase Merrell boots, I purchased a pair of Merrell MOAB boots for $270 aus dollars, well they barely lasted 2 years, the sole started disintegrating & when I got in touch with Merrell they said more or less that it’s wear n tear & too bad. I previously wore Original Swat boots (security) which the last pair lasted 5 years & they are half the price of Merrells. Am definitely going to tell everybody in the industry to stay away from this faulty product. Lesson learnt

The most uncomfortale piece of $#@^ I have ever worn but the most disturbing thing is the lack of support from Merrell.com and Merrell NZ. I will never buy another product from them.

I recommend that you, NEVER BUY THIS BRAND!
Absolute cheap rubbish priced at the top end of the market.
I couldn't find a pair of the New Balance walking shoes at the Mall that I have been generally wearing for nearly 20 years. In that time I've brought 5-6 pairs in that same style that last me around 4-5 years each until I wear them out.
I saw a pair of Merrell's which were a similar style and thought that I would try them out, even though they were over $220, which is a few dollars more than I am use to paying for my usual New Balance walking shoes. What a mistake this has been, The uppers have separated from the lower sole in only 4 months of light use from my place to the local tavern. They're absolute rubbish despite their looks. I'm furious that these companies can get away with copying the looks of known branded shoes and peddle such garbage in their place. Not a happy customer, to say the least!

CHEAP MADE SHOES FOR HIGH $$$
Very Cheap Made Shoes!! I have bought cheap shoes (think walmart) and high end ones (think $100 a pair and up) I decided to replace my New Balance which I have never had a problem with. ( $60 to $85 range) I picked what looked like a good merrell shoe with good reviews and it was on sale for like $100. I accepted their financing on their site which is convenient. I got these shoes, first thing i notice is the suede and white areas which are material looked like they would absorb dirt easy so I went and bought protection for them at $20 a can. Treated them twice, did this protect them, no they still absorb all kinds of dirt and I am not a avid walker or hiker, I am just wearing them for errands. Second thing I notice is the insole has no support , feet hurting so i go to New Balance and find higher end inserts for $44. Feels much better. At this point I have $164 into these shoes!! I start wearing them more often and I notice the left shoe seems to let my ankle slide all over so I tie it tighter as to help stop that. On outings I have had 2 people say I don't know if you can feel it but your left ankle is really leaning in on your left side!! Yes I can feel it !!! Good way to twist an ankle I finally decide almost a month later to call Merrell about these shoes, I am convinced this is a manufacturers defect on the left shoe. If it were the shoe in general , it should be both sides doing it.So the lady on the defective line says, well those shoes are made a little bigger then the size indicates so that might be it (how is this my problem?) anyway then she goes on to say, well your one foot might be different from the other (so its my fault>) I don't think so lady and I expect this from a walmart shoe for $18 but not from $100 shoes!!! So she says I will send you an email with instructions to take photos of the shoes and our defective team will determine if they will do anything about it. First of all ,very rude people, second of all, what? you don't believe your own customers who are willing to spend that much on your shoes and put faith in you to deliver a good product and you treat them like they are lieing ? Still waiting on their email, probably won't even send it. Very disappointed in this company and their quality and treatment of customers. I am making payments on shoes that suck since I accepted their financing. I am going to leave Google reviews also. Don't buy from companies that treat their customer like that, Target and Nordstrom, even (Walmart most times) treat their customers good and believe and trust them. Why pay a high end price to be treated like this? Plenty of other places to spend your hard earned dollar.

Unhappy with quality and service of Merrell NZ
Received my shoes just after Christmas and I purchased a size 8. My feet slipped out of them straight away and the elastic cut into my feet on top of the shoes. I could tell the quality was definately not how Merrell shoes used to be yet they are the same price. They are made in China now and are no where near as good. I sent them back (beware you have to pay for a rural delivery at your own cost). A week later and no communication after three emails, I received my money back. Wouldn't recommend Merrells anymore and not this company either.

Moab 2 :Boots are comfortable but did…
Moab 2 :Boots are comfortable but did not live up at all to the waterproof claim. Ok decided to try again since I go thru boots fairly quickly. Caught a good sale plus 20% off. Ordered no problem....about a week and a half goes by...no boots decided to look at my acct..says not shipped..ok whatever...I went on vacation 2 days later...came back 7 days later..I was expecting to see a package..nothing...checked my emails...nothing...went online and see it still said not shipped. So I call....they tell me ..oh sorry we did not have your size. What were they going to do never call me to let me know and just hold my $...they offer a 20% off discount. Yea gr8 thanks can google that. I chalk it up. It is what it is stuff happens. About a month later I see another sale plus a coupon code. Ok I'll try again. Ordered..wrong size came. I call and ask to get an exchange. Ok they send me a rma and told me to ship back. About 5 days later I ship back. I call about a week later for an update because of course no emails to keep me posted. They said they haven't got the package yet and they should get by the end of the week. Next week..still nothing ..next week i look and it says my order is canceled. No explanation nothing. Call up and get the run around saying they received the boots back after the 21 day limit. Meanwhile it wasn't even 21 days. Refund can take up to 48 hrs....but only after I called. Seems they are ok with just holding your $ untill you call. Never again. Boots are ok ..but the company sucks.

AVOID Merrell Boots. They leak, fall apart and Customer Service evades responsibility
If you want durable hiking boots, do not buy Merrell. They make shoes only fit for walking a dog round the local park.
I am amazed, reading the other reviews about Merrell and in particular Moab boots. I have had EXACTLY the same experience:
-Leak like a sieve
- Not waterproof at all
- Fall apart after only a few wears
- Customer Service just tries to wriggle out of any responsibility.
Here's my story:
Merrell Boots not living up to one of the core values - Durability.
On June 30th 2018 I bought my 17-year-old son some Merrell Moab Walking Boots so that he could complete his Gold DofE expedition. In the 17 months since the boots have been worn no more than 20 days hiking. They have been cleaned and dried after every outing, and regularly sprayed with Nikwax.
In January my son is heading for a charity volunteering period in Nepal.
He planned to take his boots with him. And to raise money for his charity, we started the 177-mile Offas Dyke trail two weeks ago. After 5 days, his boots were leaking badly, and one of them the upper had separated from the sole.He had to abandon his walk, return home, buy new boots (not Merrell) and then restart his walk.
I raised this with Merrell. I have shared photos of the boots, bought from Go Outdoors; I have shared stock numbers. But sadly I don't have a receipt, but I can show the credit card transaction on my statement. Merrel has been singularly unhelpful. They have said that the boots are an old model that they stopped making in 2016.
They have effectively accused me of lying about when I bought the boots. It looks like Go Outdoors sold me old stock. I have pointed out that, while in 2018 my son had size 11 ft, in 2016, when they said I bought the boots, he was 14 yrs old with size 7 feet. So why would I have bought size 11 boots??
Merrell have also pointed out that they have a 1-year warranty. I am not claiming under warranty. I am claiming that boots that do not last more than 20 wears were not fit for purpose or of merchantable quality.
If you want durable hiking boots, do not buy Merrell. They make shoes only fit for walking a dog round the local park

I bought a pair of MOAB Mid hiking…
I bought a pair of MOAB Mid hiking boots at the end of July. At the first use in wet conditions the left boot leaked like a sieve.
I returned them to the store and exchanged for another pair, thinking that the first were just a "bad" pair.
First time I wore them it was wet...and I ended up with wet feet again.
Very disappointed.
