I bought a pair of Merrell training shoes for light urban walking. I have only worn them on a small number of occasions & noticed that the material on the heels is starting to shred. My previous trainers had a smooth heel guard to minimise wear. Merrell have no heel protection & I've had to use gaffer tape to stop further damage. Not what I'd expect from a pair of £70 trainers that have only light wear. I won't be buying Merrell again anytime soon.

I bought some Merrell walking boots a couple of years ago. At first I was happy with the boots and found them comfortable but after only 2 years light to moderate use they have disintegrated. The design is flawed and built with inferior materials. Across the toe crease has fallen apart because a plastic part of the boot rubs against it when you walk normally. I contacted Merrell and at first their customer services team came across as helpful but when I sent them all the information they requested I was then lied to. When I called them out on the lie I received no response. Awful company. Inferior products. Useless customer support. Spend your money elsewhere!

Trying to buy a pair of hiking shoes has been the worst online shopping I have ever experienced. Went on to the official website 2 payments were taken and 1 returned after so much time spent on emails. The other payment still not returned and NO shoes

Just more of the same that everyone on this site has said. Rip-off. Sub standard products. Never again. They sent me a pair of shoes that destroyed my feet and I'm paying $20 for the pleasure. Absolute scum.

Bad quality of the material. In only three months of use, already shows a lot of irreperable damage on the bottoms of the shoe, wich leads to thw impossible use of them.

It is not an acceptable business practice to not cancel an order before it has been processed. I ordered a pair of sandals and emailed within an hour to cancel and was told it was not possible, on a Sunday, because the order is being prepared. The transaction has not been charged hours later, the item has not been shipped, and I’ve been told the only option is to wait for it to be shipped from the warehouse, arrive here, and then send it back. It is so wasteful and inconvenient. It is possible on the merchant’s end to cancel an authorized transaction, and in this case, the item clearly had not been processed when I requested the cancellation. I will not shop with Merrell again. I wish I had the reviews here before I ordered.

I bought a pair of hiking boots based on a number of favorable reviews from what I thought were legitimate sources. The first red flag was that I was supposed to receive free 2 day shipping and it was WEEKS before the order even processed. I called REPEATEDLY to try and find out why the order wasn't being processed. No one EVER answered the phone! When they did finally arrive I tried them on and they seemed fine (all new shoes feel a little weird the first few days, I think). After about the third time I wore them they started digging into my Achilles tendon to the point that I had to take them off because they hurt my feet so bad. Around this time Merrell sent me an e-mail to review my purchase. I, of course, wrote a scathing review of what I thought of their product thinking that this would get someone's attention................NOPE! The review form itself is another huge red flag. There is a laundry list of what you are NOT allowed to complain about so obviously they are quite well aware they are screwing everyone left and right and they don't really want to hear it from you. I honestly didn't think they would post the review and I never heard from them and sort of forgot about it. I was still mad but the world didn't stop turning because a pair of my shoes didn't fit correctly. I had looked at trying to return them but after reading their return policy did not think they would take them back. I was not willing to sit on hold for hours on end again trying to talk to someone about what my options were. A couple days ago while trying to figure out if there was something I could do to make these shoes usable I came across my review from several weeks ago. Someone from Merrell had posted an answer to my review with their phone number telling me to call customer service. At this point I figured I was already out $150.00 so what did I have to lose. I called customer service and lo and behold someone actually answered much to my surprise. I explained what was going on and they told me that I should fill out the defective product form and that as a one time courtesy they would exchange the shoes for another pair. I thought "sweet" I will finally be able to wear my overpriced shoes. WELL, not so fast there cowboy. After filling out the form and doing what they requested I got a response back stating that I ordered the wrong size (which is my fault) AND ......sucks to be you. However, as a consolation prize, I can order ANOTHER pair of their crappy shoes and get a 20% discount. So, the lesson here boys and girls is.... DO NOT try to buy shoes over the internet AND DO NOT do business with Merrell

The UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 makes it an implied term of the purchase of any goods that, "the goods be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality.” My boots broke down completely after two brief outings. In an email to me, Merrell agrees that "the problem does occur with materials used by Merrell.” But my boots are outside of the sixty day Merrell warranty and my claim has been completely rejected. A 60 day warranty on product like boots does not deserve to be called a warranty. It is completely useless. Ray Johnstone.
