Bought a pair of Moab-2 GoreTex. Shoelace eye ripped out due to defective stitching after 12 weeks. Merrell's "defect warranty" doesn't cover lacing features or soles (not sure what it does cover then). Customer service was horribly stubborn about it and will not repair/replace. This company and its products are ridiculously overrated as others have shown here.

bonjour après avoir subit une fraude sur un site clos MERREL (la copie était parfaite mais site frauduleux) j'ai tenté une nouvelle commande en vérifiant scrupuleusement qu'il s'agissait bien du site MERREL officiel.... j'ai passé ma commande le 17/7 bien reçu l'accusé réception et après aucune nouvelle la commande ne bougeait pas j'ai essayé de joindre le site plusieurs essais infructueux personne ne répond... ce matin enfin j'ai pu joindre une personnes m'a commande est annulé plus de stock et on m'a parait il envoyé un mail jamais reçu. Site vraiment pas sérieux du tout

Über die Qualität der Schuhe kann ich leider nichts berichten, denn gleich vorneweg: bisher sind diese leider noch nicht bei mir angekommen. Die Bestellung hat noch ganz gut funktioniert und auch die Bestätigung lief in kürzester Zeit bei mir im Postfach auf. Eigentlich sollten die Schuhe dann ja nach 3-4 Tagen geliefert werden… leider nicht in meinem Fall. Der Service teilte mir nach Anfrage dann mit, dass die Schuhe angeblich bereits UPS ausgeliefert wurden… ich solle doch mal in der Nachbarschaft rumfragen (Lieferung wurde lt. Service von Merrell bzw. UPS bei „other“ abgegeben) Hab ich dann auch gemacht, allerdings ohne Erfolg. Diesen Umstand habe ich Merrell dann nochmals mitgeteilt - leider werde ich seither vom Service aber ignoriert. Ich werde nun wohl andere Wege gehen müssen um mein Geld zurückzubekommen… schade eigentlich… aber die Konkurrenz (Freiluftkind, Saguaro usw.) hat auch tolle Schuhe… Sollte sich noch was an dem Umstand ändern, ergänze ich das hier gerne - aber bei der Masse an schlechten Bewertungen mit ähnlichen Problemen bin ich eher skeptisch...

Purchased walking shoes 11 months ago and totally unwearable. Sole splitting from the toe down to heel. I have treated them correctly since purchase but made no difference. Won’t be buying again!!’

Contacted Merrell "customer support" after my shoes became very slippery on wet surfaces (eg roadways, footpaths, rock faces). Was sent an email by "Brad" that my shoes as hiking shoes were not suitable for hard surfaces so should only be worn where the surface "gives" and that he would tell sales staff to ensure hiking shoes buyers were properly warned of the issue. I assume he meant that if you start your hike from a made car park you should walk barefoot to the nearest mud patch or quicksand to put your shoes on, and remember to remove them if you come to any solid surface during your hike! So much for customer support providing actual support.

I bought my first pair of Merrells 3 years ago. They were predominantly leather with quality stitching and a Vibram sole. I got 2 years of rugged use out of them, albeit not wearing them every single day. I returned to Dick's Sporting Goods hoping to find the same pair or something comparable. What I found was shoes with single stitching and made predominantly out of Rawhide. Because the brand had served me so well I figured I would give them a go again anyway. After 4 months, again not wearing them every day, I developed a stress fracture in my left heel. The only other time this ever happened was wearing jungle boots in the army with a steel shank in the sole. After 6 months of use the shoes were basically falling apart. I'm sad and frustrated to see what was once a quality brand go this far downhill this quickly. No more for me. This time I bought a pair of Keens instead.

Atrocious. Rude phone staff. Delivery date constantly changed. Packages stuck abroad. Total mess. Was told I can't cancel my order...which makes no sense.
