Damn I had a pair of Merrel hiking shoes that I wore to death and almost right through the soles. Bought exactly the same pair and in a very short time the sole disconnected at the toe. With almost no use but after about 6 months. Haha they told me to buy some shoe glue which I did and repaired them. But in the meantime I’d bought an additional but slightly different pair as well. These came completely apart at the toe after two months of little use and the retailer gave me a credit for a new pair. So I replaced those with a different pair again. And what do you know. The bloody things have come away at the toe but the material is torn so very soon they’ll be a hole there. Merrill have completely lost the plot and is basically committing fraud by continuing to sell their products

The description for the 'Agility Peak Tactical Shoe,' mentions the word 'breathable,' multiple times throughout the page on their site. That's the MAIN reason I purchased these sneaker style shoes. A few months ago- on the same site- the vernacular of 'water' and 'proof' or 'water' and 'resistant' was used. It has since been edited. I purchased these shoes because they were breathable sneakers- supposedly. 1. These were the hottest, most uncomfortable shoes I have ever worn. Nylon is the main ingredient-which is woven plastic. This is also the reason it feels like you're wearing plastic bags on your feet. There was ZERO breathability. 2. In order to make the shoes even remotely tolerable- I had to take my combat knife and stab holes-through the areas that SHOULD be mesh-just to get air flow. Great job designers. Not. 3. Unlike the rest of the world- I do not have unlimited time to mail something back to the company- because it was so poorly manufactured that no human should ever be subjected to said product. It took x amount of days to get the order, then it will take x many days to return the garbage item-THEN-best part- it will take x number of days to receive the refund-even though merchants have instant access to our funds. This is all IF the high and mighty merchant approves the refund. Ya see Merrell designers/shoe engineers: There is no such thing as 100% waterproof. It was definitely mentioned in your description at some point because someone else bought these same shoes because of the weather/water resistance/proofness- then left a review, specifically stating that they don't hold up well in water at all. The GENIUS response was "these aren't 100% waterproof." Ya don't say. So, they don't breathe- and they don't hold up in water. Pretty serious design flaws. Furthermore- out of ALL the waterproof shoe options= low cut sneaker style shoes are the least water resistant choice. Sneakers aren't usually the first thought that springs in to someone's head when they think waterproof. Boots or boot variants are much more tactical. In conclusion: The shoes do not breathe because they are primarily nylon-which is a horrid, terrible design. Clearly it was never tested or worn during the developmental stages. They are about as water resistant as a rucksack or backpack because it's the exact same material- but no fabric on earth is truly 100% waterproof. After a bit of steady rain- they will be soaked through. Because of the 'brilliant' design of these Merrell made shoes- it will trap outside water- as well as your foot sweat.(Unless you stab holes through the material which is absolutely obscene) This will ensure that the wearer has an extremely uncomfortable experience. Years ago- this brand was solid. I wish I had read the reviews. I would have learned that this company- like so many others- has undergone a serious quality change, design change, and it's most definitely cut costs. It has become another apathetic entity- lining it's pockets from average people. Merrell needs to switch the American flag on their website to a Chinese one. At least be upfront about it. Never again

Bought a backup pair of mid hikers and finally got them out to wear and first day out the top lace hook pulled out. Not impressed with the quality! Shame on me for buying a made in China piece of crap! Will not ever buy another pair of Merrills. Item CHAM 7 LIMIT MID WP J12761

I have been Merrell shoes for over 15 years. Ordered a new pair online from Merrell. Guess I ordered the wrong width. Wore twice thought I needed to just get them broke in. They made my feet hurt terribly. I called customer service they said since I had wore them I couldn't return them. They have lost a loyal customer. I will never buy Merrell shoes again.

Worst customer service. They were very rude over the phone. I called 2nd time to open complaint. They said conversations were not recorded. I understood why they were very rude. Company does not care. Never buy anything from here.

I have had my Merrells for about a year, very light use in that time. The rand is starting to peel away, I expected better from such a well known brand

This is my third pair of Merrell Moab 3s. The first two pair I wore the soles out. The third pair, not even a year old, has the sole separating from the shoe. I contacted Merrell customer support and was offered a 30% discount. Don't buy Merrell Moab 3, they have cheapen them. Not worth the price any longer.

I bought a pair of Merrill walking shoes (MOABs). They were fine, but in less than a year the wrap-around toe protection part failed. Gave them the benefit of the doubt, and bought a new pair. Surprise, surprise, after a year the same area failed again. The only difference was the disintegration was far worse this time. Deeply flawed manufacture. I won't be buying Merrills again.
