I love using Mermaid
I love using Mermaid! It's simple, has documentation for syntax, great AI skills, the output looks great. Keep up with the good work!

Mermaid is a diagramming tool built on Mermaid.js, the open-source diagramming library. Diagrams are defined as text in Mermaid syntax, and the rendering engine determines the layout. When a process changes, updating the diagram is a text edit rather than a rebuild — the practical difference from drag-and-drop editors, where repositioning nodes is part of every revision. There are several ways to create a diagram: users can write Mermaid syntax directly, begin from a template, or describe a process in plain language and let Mermaid AI generate the diagram along with its supporting documentation. Every route produces the same text-based diagram, so one that began as an AI generation or a template is edited, versioned, and updated exactly like one written by hand. The editor supports the full range of Mermaid diagram types, including flowcharts, sequence diagrams, class diagrams, entity relationship diagrams, state diagrams, Gantt charts, user journey maps, mindmaps, and timelines. Teams use it for software architecture diagrams, database schemas, API request flows, onboarding and process documentation, and project timelines, where the same syntax covers both quick sketches and diagrams that need to stay accurate over time.Comments, notifications, and real-time collaborative editing keep a team working in a single source file rather than exchanging screenshots. Because diagrams are stored as text, they can be version-controlled alongside code, reviewed in the same workflow as any other file, and kept in sync as the systems they document evolve. Finished diagrams export to standard formats such as PNG and SVG for use elsewhere.Integrations with PowerPoint, Word, Confluence, VS Code, JetBrains IDEs, ChatGPT, and Claude place diagrams in the tools where the work already happens.

It's awesome for visualising flow diagrams.

I enjoyed that Mermaid was already available in Obsidian and worked seamlessly with Markdown. Most process flow diagramming software suffer from ultra rigid formating, this is where Mermaid stands out, as it provides more control and brings custom feel to diagram's layout

I like using Mermaid for software documentation task. It is particularly useful to create ER diagrams and database relationship diagrams. As I use a lot vibecoding tools like Base44, I create the diagram code in mermaid Syntax and ask it to generate on Mermaid. As Mermaid have the AI features, it can self correct possible bugs in the syntax.

I first came across Mermaid about 5 years ago in my first year of college. I needed to draw class and sequence diagrams for a project and honestly had no idea there was a better way than using Paint or similar tools. While looking for something online, I stumbled upon Mermaid and it was a bit of a revelation — you could just write a simple code-like syntax and the diagram would generate itself. From that point it became part of every project I worked on. The biggest thing for me is how it removes the friction of visualising ideas. No dragging boxes around, no manual alignment — just describe the structure and it appears. What's made it even more relevant recently is how well it works with AI. AI tools can now output Mermaid code directly, which makes generating software architecture and system design documentation incredibly fast to produce and easy to iterate on. It supports a wide range of diagram types — flowcharts, sequence diagrams, class diagrams, general graphs — and has enough flexibility with things like notes and styling that it handles most real engineering documentation needs. For any software engineer who cares about documentation, it's hard to imagine going back to anything else.

Mermaid has been very useful for creating sequence diagrams and visualizing the architecture of new services. I especially like how quickly I can turn an idea or system flow into a clear diagram without spending a lot of time on manual formatting. It makes it easier to communicate technical designs and understand how different services interact.

Mermaid AI makes it very fast to turn rough ideas into clean, useful diagrams. I especially like it for visualizing technical concepts and workflows without spending ages arranging every element manually. The results sometimes need small adjustments, but it gives me a strong starting point and saves a lot of time.
