They Mess Up, You Pay
Mercury Auto Transport used a bait-and-switch tactic in my experience. They told me a driver was ready and asked me to sign the paperwork, but refused to provide the driver’s name, phone number, or any actual dispatch details, repeatedly saying the information would arrive “soon.” The driver details never arrived. When I asked to cancel, they charged a dispatch fee, claiming that a driver had already been dispatched—even though they never provided any proof that a real driver had been assigned. It felt like a trick to keep me committed so I could not book with another company that actually had a confirmed driver. Be very careful before signing anything or paying a dispatch fee unless they first provide verifiable driver details. UPDATED: Mercury’s own response confirms that the dispatch paperwork and driver information were still being processed when I cancelled. That is not a completed dispatch, regardless of what button they clicked in their internal system. Another company had already provided me the exact same driver’s details, and Mercury’s screenshot showed only $350 payable to the driver, yet Mercury retained even more than that while providing no transportation service.

Mr. Chaika, We're sorry to hear that you remain dissatisfied with your experience. We respectfully disagree with your characterization of the events and believe it's important to clarify a few key facts. On **July 13, 2026**, you contacted Mercury Auto Transport requesting a **same-day pickup by 3:00 p.m.** Our team located an independent carrier within approximately two hours, notified you that the carrier had been secured, and requested the dispatch paperwork needed to reserve the driver. You confirmed completion of the paperwork and later spoke directly with your agent, Scott Hawley, who confirmed the pickup, identified **Jezer Trucking** as the assigned carrier, and explained that the remaining dispatch documents and driver information required a short amount of processing time and would be forwarded as soon as they became available. The carrier was dispatched at **10:10 a.m.** At **10:38 a.m.**, before the remaining dispatch documents could be finalized and sent, you advised Mercury Auto Transport that you had chosen to use another transportation company and requested cancellation. At that time, you were advised that cancelling after dispatch would result in the applicable broker fee under the Terms and Conditions accepted at booking. In accordance with those Terms and Conditions, our cancellation policy provides for a partial refund when a customer cancels after dispatch. Consistent with that policy, Mercury Auto Transport processed a refund of **$331.54**. We have retained timestamped text messages, dispatch records, and supporting documentation reflecting this timeline. We appreciate all customer feedback, but we also believe it is important that reviews accurately reflect the documented sequence of events.
