If I could give zero stars, I would. The story out of this store and how they treat people is nothing short of disgusting. A disabled teenager, hungry and doing his best to hold down a job, was seen taking discarded fruit cups from the trash. Instead of offering compassion or even addressing it like a human being, management watched him do this day after day until the value “added up” enough to press charges. Think about that: rather than show kindness, they set a trap for a vulnerable kid. This isn’t about theft, this is about cruelty, negligence, and an utter lack of humanity. No decent company should allow managers to criminalize a hungry special-needs teen for eating food that was being thrown away anyway. Shame on Meijer. You’ve lost my respect, my business, and hopefully the business of anyone else who believes people deserve dignity.

In stead of arresting that young man your company should have had some compassion and allow your employee to have a meal because obviously he was HUNGRY!!!! And a child at that!! SMH To have him arrested instead of talking to him and finding out what the issue was is insane! Obviously the young man was hungry and a company that makes billions should have allowed that young man an employee meal while on the clock! This is unacceptable and sickening to say the least!!!
