Be aware there selling you a circus…
Be aware it's about a circus experience not about the cars. I purchased 11 cars. 6 had problems to major problems, (thats not Mecum's fault they cannot vet condition). Absolutely everything is a charge and up charge. They corner you into using there transport for cars with tight timelines to remove the car from the lot and charge more than other transports. Food vendors complain about getting overcharged by mecum and they say they have to charge a lot for food. Auctioneers jump pricing on bids and you dont know that the actual bid is tens of thousands less. The auctioneer will misrepresent car values indirectly as if the cars are worth so much more. I dont feel i was treated as a customer ever that there only concern was to get more money from me to enter, sit somewhere , sit closure to the stage, push me to bid more and charge me more for shipping than i pay other companys to ship cars. I feel They could care less about me as a customer Just my money and how to get more of it.

Jim- We requested more information in an effort to discuss these concerns, but did not receive a reply. Regarding the transportation of any purchases, for convenience, Mecum Auto Transport and Reliable Carriers are on-site at all of our auctions. However, you are welcome to use whichever transporter you wish. You will find that Mecum Auto Transport and Reliable Carriers are fully enclosed and fully insured. That said, they will be more expensive than other “open-rack” carriers but remain competitive compared to similarly-equipped enclosed transport companies. At the majority of our auctions, we (Mecum) do not have full control over food & beverage services. We try our best to ensure quality vendors with ample options are available, but we as a company do not charge anything for a food vendor to be at our events. Regarding your comments that our auctioneers "jump pricing" and "misrepresent car values", we don't know exactly what you're referring to here as you did not reply to our request for more information. Put simply, an item being sold at auction with a reserve price only works when the seller agrees to sell their vehicle for a price that a bidder has offered. This model wouldn’t function if your claims were true. We do understand that the pace of our auctions can be a bit overwhelming, but the claim that we "jump pricing" and "misrepresent car values" is not accurate. We would still like the opportunity to discuss these concerns, and any others you may have, if you would reply to our request for more information. Mecum Auctions
