Quick, easy and reassuring.

This was such an efficient way of receiving good care for minor issues. It cost me fractions of what it would have been had I gone in to see a doctor with my high co pays. I sure hope this option will be available even after covid lifts.

I woke up with what looked and felt like a stye in one of my eyes a week ago. Looked up the list of non life threatening issues that were eligible for telemedicine I was happy to see styes on the list! While logged into Cigna I selected telemedicine and clicked through all the screening questions until I was given an option for a phone call or a video chat. The screen warned that a video chat would likely require a longer wait time (although it also listed a current estimated wait time of 10-15 minutes for each option) and I chose a regular phone call to save time. I was then prompted to upload a picture of the problematic eye. That triggered a confirmation screen to wait for a call and provided the calling number ID so I’d know it wasn’t just one of the never ending series of telemarketing calls we all get. Within 5 minutes Dr. Kaplan called me - with my picture on the screen in front of him - and asked all the relevant questions about symptoms and onset timing that my PCP would have asked if I’d trekked all the way to his office - assuming I could get an appt on short notice which is highly doubtful since it’s always a 3 month wait for my annual physical. He diagnosed my stye - gave me verbal care instructions and sent an electronic prescription order for medication to my preferred pharmacy. My pharmacy location had been one of the preliminary screening questions so that info was already entered into the system. All in all it was an extremely easy way to avoid attempting to avoid an in person visit - with all the extra covid precautions involved therein - and get treatment quickly. My eye was a little better the next day and completely back to normal within 5 or 6 days. I would definitely recommend this option to anyone considering trying it and will definitely opt for it again for any other applicable issues that may arise.

Calls are answered promptly and information is clear. People are always polite and concerned with my welfare. Appointments are set promptly and kept on time. Doctors are easy to talk to and quick and intelligent with their responses.
