McMurray needs to revamp cart
I'm disappointed with the way everything worked out with my McMurray order though some I guess could be considered my fault because I didn't review everything for a second time after leaving the cart to find another chick to add. The problems considered partially my fault have to do with their ordering. I clicked off that I did NOT want an "extra" chick because they said it would be a rooster. I ended up with one anyway. Before leaving the cart to add another chick I also checked off that I wanted to order the supplements they list on the final part of their order form. I had to get out of the cart for a time to get my credit card. When I'd finalized my chick order and went back in to the cart to check out all of my chicks were still on the order form, my contact info was still there so I went straight to the payment page. Unbeknownst to me some of the info on the order must reset each time you leave the page. I didn't receive the supplement I'd initially added, we tore apart the whole box looking. I also received the extra chick I'd said I didn't want, a rooster I presume since that's what their site said I'd get as an extra. I also paid for each of my nine chicks to receive two vaccinations each. I was billed for vaccinations for the nine chicks I'd ordered but I wasn't billed for the extra tenth so does that mean it wasn't vaccinated? All of the chicks were suffering by the time we received them, they were born Tuesday but not delivered until Friday. They guarantee the chicks live for 48 hours after receipt, one died after 55 hours so I didn’t bother to call because I wouldn't get a refund. One chick was almost dead when we got him but perked up and was running with the others after I taught him to drink. But, he was blinded within a couple of hours of opening the box after some of the other chicks pecked at his eyes. I removed him and made a small box brooder with everything he needed. Initially we thought he was permanently blinded because of the blood we could see around each eye but thankfully it was only for 4 days. I used my fingernails to tap on his food and water bowls to let him know where they were. For four days I held him to calm him when he loudly cried out and I put aloe on his eyes hoping they would have vision when all of the scab crust came off and the lids were able to open. They finally opened and he could see so I slowly introduced him to others and they accepted him. I think I'll order from another hatchery next time and see how that goes. I think McMurray should fix their site to keep all selections someone elects and not reset the cart each time, I can't imagine I'm the only one who has had this problem.
