Rented from them for 7 years
I have rented this property for over 10 years, Maymont (Previously Conrex) took over about 7 years ago. Everything about this property has gotten progressively worse every year. Their motto is something like "Make it safe, simple, and functional" is what I was told. So it makes sense that when I report that the jacuzzi jets in the master bath have gone out, they just come and seal the jets off so they can't be used anymore. If you report that boards are constantly rotting and falling through the back porch because it's not been properly sealed, they just have someone come out and half-ass paint the porch (And I mean it is really bad, didn't remove stickers from the wood and just painted over them, lots of bare spots or paint marks on things that shouldn't be painted.). Requiring tenants to use 3rd party vendors to pay rent and utilities instead of being able to pay them directly, so that when issues arise, they don't have any accountability for the errors. Purposefully not notifying tenants of late rent until AFTER they accrue a second late fee, and then having a policy of only being able to waive the first. I've never had a late payment for rent, and this year I wound up with three late fees due to their 3rd party rental system's UI. And really I can't stress enough how terrible their maintenance department is. They just farm out to third party vendors, then expect the tenants to take it from there. This consists have having to have anywhere from 3-6 contractors come out to assess a single issue before Maymont approves the lowest one possible. I've had several of the contractors tell me they don't get jobs approved because Maymont wants it done as cheaply as possible, and they refuse to half-ass their work. So the work that does get done is usually by people that are not very good at their jobs, and the issue that needed fixed winds up fixed, but looks absolutely terrible. And because it takes them so long to find the cheapest option it can be well over a month (Which is has been for two of the jobs in my home currently) before anything gets fixed. I could live with the ugly alterations, but the late fees were my last straw.
